If you think you didn’t need the guacamole with pork you’re wrong. This is incredible. Overall we like their food, always food and definitely flavorful (rice lacks flavor) and the staff is really nice.

Today, I purchased a slice of their Banana Cake. Wonderful! This is my favorite Mexican food take-out restaurant. 10/12/2024: Take-out dinner – Chicken Quesadillas, Corn and rice side, FANTASTIC! 08/10/2024: Take-out. Everything was EXCELLENT! 11/26/2022: Dinner for 2 again. The enchiladas and fajitas were very tasty. This is a Grade A Mexican dining experience. 11/05/2022: First visit – dinner for two. Ortega’s food is far above average… Well Done!!! ed

I am a Gringo, but kind of an expert with Mexican Food. And my Spouse is from Mexico.
I ate here for a late lunch Thursday, 10/24/24, around 3:30 p.m., it was my first visit back in over a year.
The food was good.
Pros:
Server who stated she was the owner was attentive, friendly.
Tortillas for tacos are made by hand, each had single tortillas.
Salsas were very good, fresh tasting.
3 chicken tacos had a good amount of chicken.
Cons:
Dining area is smaller and seating is outdated.
Salsas could be a bit more spicy and chicken could be seasoned a little more.
Price was average or slightly above average to similar restaurants.
( Other places give 4 tacos for similar price and or double tortillas.)
I would recommend this place for friends and family to give it a try, atleast once.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but on December 30th I ordered takeout from this restaurant and this experience was really disappointing. My girlfriend and I both became sick shortly after eating here with food poisoning. We ordered different items, yet had the same reaction. We will not be eating at this restaurant again.

Food was very good, fresh, and authentic. Service was very good. The young lady at the counter was very friendly, sweet and super attentive. Tortillas with three dips to taste while you wait. They have some baked goods you can take out as well. My husband ordered the chimechamgas and I had the chalupas. A few reasons we didn’t give it five stars: the food wasn’t hot enough and the chimechamga could have been fried a bit more. Atmosphere so so but clean. Bathroom was very clean. This seems like a family owned business. If you want authentic Mexican in a low key atmosphere, give this place a try.

My friend and I both enjoyed our dishes. I had the garlic shrimp dish with rice and beans which came with soft tortillas. It was a decent portion with fresh ingredients. The guacamole and chips were also very delicious. It is a casual dining setting inside, not a big space and staff were friendly. First time there and will be back.
