Thank you for the warm hospitality Devin!
The food is out of this world. There is so much variety in their menu yet they take time to make sure each entree is well craft.
We had the cornbeef hashed breakfast and it was so FRESH and full of flavor! We also had to try the sausage gravy because all those around us kept saying it was amazing (which was right). The sausage gravy was full of flavor over fresh baked biscuits. YUM!
We can’t wait to to try the rest of the menu!
I don’t often leave reviews unless I have something either really positive or really negative to say, so the folks at Orleans Market and Pub were outstanding. They truly went above and beyond with their level of service, quality, packaging, presentation and plating.
My wife had been a bit under the weather going into Mother’s Day weekend, so we opted to have the whole Sunday brunch catered.
From the initial contact, helping us decide the menu, invoicing and payment, pick up scheduling and finally, consumption, it was a flawless experience. Even the way they packaged the individual poached eggs so that we could assemble our own eggs Benedict showed the hugest level of care ans attention to detail.
We are now planning on ordering a weekly Niçoise salad tray as well the upcoming Father’s Day brunch!
We cannot wait to have a dine in experience!
We recently moved up from south Florida and were regular attendees to the South Beach Food and Wine festival. From that frame of reference, I feel the food at this establishment could not only easily compete, but outperform!
Got it and the dough was raw. The bottom didn’t have any color, and it looked like a normal pepperoni pizza. I ate one piece and felt a little grossed out. Left the rest and by the time the server came back, (drinks were long empty) she apologized and asked if we wanted it cooked more. I told her I was not interested and just take it back. She said she would take it off the bill. So, she came back with the bill and the pizza was still on it. My wife asked why, and she said that it was not cooked because I added too many toppings….
I was a frequent patron of this place but I’ll find another that has better business decisions.
I added a pic of the double pepperoni. Pretty sad especially if you look on their page, it shows a pepperoni pizza with way more pepperoni than mine did. So, we paid for the pizza and they kept it less one slice… — at Orlean Market.
We were a little confused entering the pub + market (the door marked as the entrance was locked) and wandered the market until we asked + figured out the pub was open. Upon entering the pub, we were told to sit wherever we wanted (which would come back to haunt us) and we did so…and then were basically ignored.
We ordered two rounds of drinks (beers and a canned seltzer), our meal and an ice water – which didn’t come out until after our food. Both our food orders were wrong: one bacon cheddar burger came out without bacon and our steak + cheese sub came out with like two pieces of chicken and otherwise no meat. We sent the sub back with our apologies, noting we were excited to try what we ordered and enjoyed ourselves while we waited. After the chef and owner passed by a second time, he asked how things were and we honestly explained we were waiting on a corrected dish. The atmosphere instantly changed and he seemed unfriendly and hostile. He passed by again twice after we received the correct sandwich and avoided eye contact, never once checking in. He was a completely different person than the person we had encountered previously at the tailgate or whose picture plastered the walls.
Upon asking for salt, we were told we were sitting where regulars usually sit and “they don’t need all the condiments” (which is cool, except they told us to sit wherever).
The burger was good, though the portion was small and it arrived without the bacon – same with the steak + cheese. When our bill arrived, we were overcharged for the steak and cheese sandwich (we were charged $23 for the $17 sandwich and charged for coleslaw never received) and for the wrong burger. When we pointed this out to the waitress, she said the menus were outdated and needed to be updated). Ultimately, they knocked $5 off the bill but we still ended up paying more than $75 for basically 4 beers and two half-assed sandwiches after waiting for our correct order.
Wen couldn’t help but notice the lack of service and friendless while we were there. At least two other parties came in hoping for seating and a menu and were ignored and even the scheduled musical act came in to order a drink after talking with staff and setting up and weren’t recognized.
I wish I could say just one part of our experience missed the mark, but the whole experience felty sloppy and disappointing. I recently moved closer to Hume/Amissville to my boyfriends’ from Marshall and was hoping the Orlean Market could become one of our regular spots, but I don’t think we’ll ever go back. We were hoping to drink and enjoy the live music, but ultimately left as soon as we were done eating to go to Death Ridge for a better experience.
