This is LA’s iconic spot when it comes to chili dogs. I’ve have eaten their entire menu at their original spot in Temple. They have lots of free parking. Outdoor seating only. Staff were helpful and friendly.

After seeing Tommy’s in many movies. Hearing about The Original Tommy’s of California. I was driving to Arizona through California. I set the GPS to take me to the closest one. Great, only 10 miles out of my way. So off I was. Couldn’t wait. Made my order and received it quickly. Wow. This is the world famous Tommy’s. Lmao. What a disappointment. They may be world famous from being in many movies, it definitely isn’t due to their food. If you haven’t gone, don’t waste your time. If you look hard enough. There is a burger in there.

The food is good, but man, I’m struggling to finish both the chili cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. The chili is heavy, but in a good way. Pick one or the other, but not both at once.
I think the staff is friendly, but both I and the staff had a hard time hearing each other through the window. I don’t count that against them, though; they’re doing what they can.

What I expected from a Tommy’s. Chili burger and fries were great and hit the spot. Didnt take AMEX was the only issue I had at this location.

I mean the burger was good, but I mean it was nothing special or anything. I can totally appreciate and respect the fact that they’ve been around for so long though. I really thought the old style appearance of the place was awesome. I would go back to support the cause!
