Reviews
[Most recently, got the following]
Cocktail: Milky Way (would get again)
Appetizer: Charcuterie Pretzel (loaded) — note it’s ONE LARGE pretzel. Filling!
Dinner: Half Rack of Baby Back Ribs, mashed potatoes, vegetable, and salad
Dinner was solid overall. I prefer to have gravy on my mashed potatoes but the pepper was okay. Would recommend.
I actually saved the salad for the next day because it was a lot of food. Definitely better if you have it fresh. Only complaint this time around was the dressing. They don’t give you enough. That little cup they gave me, only offered this much dressing (pictured). Looking at the cup, I knew I would need more dressing. I asked for more dressing and as a heads up – they do charge you extra for dressing. I just find that ridiculous, because you would expect a decent amount of dressing to be served in the first place.
Timeline of Night:
7:40PM – drinks
7:45PM – appetizer
8:15PM – dinner
Pros: lots of options
Cons: “not sure what you’re going to get” (Ex. one time the burgers were great; one time they sucked).
The young lady was very pleasant and even recommended her favorite wing flavor which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing.
We both were made aware that the kitchen was only serving fried food at that time but figured we’d go for the wings and sweet potato fries. We tried two flavors which unfortunately both had no flavor and tasted like old cooking oil. The grease was dripping off of them and after biting in to one, oil shot in to my husband’s eye. As for the fries, they tasted like the rest of the food and were cooked too long. In addition, we found a bunch of French fries mixed in with our wings. The picture below shows just some of the fries pushed aside from our wings. We’ve gone to many restaurants late at night and have never seen food so poorly fried and served. Disappointing paying for a meal that we could only consume 10% of.
As for the atmosphere, the music and pub appearance were a vibe. No complaints there.
I kept it simple with sweet potato fries to start and a shrimp po’ boy as my entree. Dessert was a crème brûlée.
The sweet potato fries were perfectly cooked and lightly salted, they came with ranch but I ate them without it.
The shrimp on the po’ boy was lightly battered and was well cooked and not heavy.
The crème brûlée had a perfect crunch and a delectable crème.
My service was prompt and friendly from door to table.
Atmosphere is a class pub vibe.
My total with a soft drink was $35, which felt reasonable.
Today I decided to try out something other than the wings (which my gf still got) and I got The Bronson which is a grilled chicken sandwich on a long roll with American, mushrooms, and bacon. I love all of these ingredients and I was excited about it. The roll was also decent, which is usually half the battle.
Unfortunately the chicken on this was beyond overcooked. Due to the chicken being well over, the sandwich was quite dry. The loaded pierogis were just frozen Mrs T’s but they tasted good with the toppings, and my gf’s wings were good as usual. This won’t cause us to not come here anymore or anything like that, but this was an unfortunate first attempt at anything other than the wings. Will update after next time in.
