A local gem in the East Bay! High quality sushi with warm friendly atmosphere. Chef Ray and his wife are a dynamic duo! You can taste the passion and creativity in each dish. I always get excited to bring friends here to try their tasting menu. My partner loves their karaage. The nigiris are carefully hand crafted. Even the dessert is fresh made in house daily! I came on multiple occasions to celebrate birthdays with friends and loved ones. 1000% recommended. ☺️

I was craving sashimi so I visited this place. Not a big place and it was not busy during dinner time. I wanted chicken karaage, but they ran out. Got the friend pork dumplings instead. They were good, but nothing to write home about. I would have ordered draft beer if they had any.

They were accommodating as I wanted to substitute salmon with hamachi in their salmon oyakodon. I know it makes sense to have salmon as the sashimi, but I like hamachi better so I asked for it. The quality of the fish was good. The bowl was not big enough, but at least it was fresh.

I may come back again as they have a 3-small bites, 9-piece nigiri, soup and dessert menu for $79. However, based on my appetite, that may not be enough for me either.

If you are a sushi connoisseur, you should know about spot already. I’m sad I’ve only recently discovered this place. Run by a husband and wife duo with a unique touch. Food was immaculate and highly recommend. We are definitely heading back soon!

HOLY COW! Hands down one of the best sushi spots I’ve ever been to! Everything was super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The fish melted in my mouth and the service was fast and friendly! I’ll definitely be coming back

So excited to find this new omakase spot in the Tri-Valley area! Chef Ray was super friendly and explained everything really clearly. The fish was fresh, and each piece was seasoned just right. I’ll definitely be back. (Heads up—if you’re going for the 9-course omakase, make sure to call ahead!)

We had the Godzilla Roll, Rosewood Roll and California Roll. All were very fresh. Wonderful hosts and service, very polite. We asked for the cheesecake. The host told us it wasn’t completely done yet (missing the candied fruit), but could serve us our two requested portions without the fancy topping, and just charge us for one. We said ok. The cheesecake was just fine with the zested lime (?) on it. It might be a smaller portion than you are expecting though. Tasted great though. The place was quite cold inside temperature-wise though, so bring a sweater if you run cold. Decor is ok.

Update: i’ve been back 3 times since my last visit and put all my friends on this spot. consistently really good and fresh, but i do wish they were open for lunch and had some more dessert options.
amazing sushi!!! best sushi i’ve had ever, other than in hawaii. it was so good and fresh and the presentation was amazing!! we got the spicy tuna roll, gorilla roll and witch roll along with salmon nigiri and everything was perfect. better than Fat fish and wayne’s honestly which is crazy bc wayne’s has been my go to for years. the service was normal and the restaurant itself is small and casual. sushi was SO GOOD i can’t stop raving i lowkey want to gatekeep it

We ordered only a few Nigiri sushis (flounder and sea bream) – both had amazing distinct flavors. The chef came to our table and explained the taste and suggested us not to use soy sauce for them and he was spot on. They literally melted in our mouth and were flavor bombs. Also ordered a few sushi rolls (spicy hamachi and rosewood rolls). They were really good too.

Overall the service was friendly and great, cozy down to earth atmosphere and the chef is amazing!

The hamachi carpaccio was really good. Love that the chef adds the Serrano pepper and the little mandarin. It adds an interesting element and highlights the flavor of the fish. Miso soup was a little pricier but delicious.
