Saw this place on maps so I dropped in. Definitely not a dine-in restaurant although you can eat here. It’s more of an order for pick-up place. I had the shrimp lo-mein and dumplings. Both were very good. Worth the stop if you want Chinese for lunch or dinner.

So, I wanted some Chinese food and so i googled location and I found this hole in the wall place.
Taste is on point.
Quick because I’m on my lunch break.
For a small restaurant they met my expectations.
So glad they are close to my house.
Today Oriental Star gets my ⭐

The food is not very flavorful. The plate I got was good only because I like vegetables but if you are going based on taste it is very bland. The fried rice did not seem to be fried but tasted more like some ricearoni rice.
Crab ragoons were on the sweeter side but were the best thing I got

Ordered black pepper chicken with noodles, chicken and broccoli combo, and crab rangoon. Over $36 for this little bit.
Black pepper chicken- terrible. Never again. Was VERY sweet. Could feel the sugar granules on my tongue. Black pepper chicken should not be sweet at all.
Chicken and broccoli- broccoli had many bad spots in it. Chicken was without flavor and tasted a bit off putting. Rice was dry and clumped together. Not good.
Egg Roll(came with combo)- cabbage only. Very greasy. Grease needs cleaned.
Crab Rangoon- my wife LOVES this recipe. Very sweet. Lots of onion. I give them a 3/5.
Noodles- not terrible. Over cooked, very dark, some seasoning was there, no vegetables.
NOTE: No fortune cookies, no sauces, they didn’t ask.
For $36 for only this is very expensive for the quality being produced. Will not return to this location.

The food is bland and nasty. I ordered General Tso’s chicken and it had no flavor, and the chicken was mushy, not crispy. The rice was okay–but really, who can mess up steamed rice. The egg rolls were really good, but that’s about all I can say about this place that was good.

Stopping through Louisville and from Denver. Stayed at a local hotel and this place does not disappoint. My wife and I ordered the Kung Pao chicken, egg roll, and fried wonton and all were delicious. Super reasonable pricing but then again, when you’re from Denver, everything is super reasonable. I doubt if I’ll ever be through Louisville again but I highly recommend this restaurant.

Went for carry out on Christmas Eve. At the time I was the only customer. How sad!
The Asian food was wonderful! Everything was piping hot when we brought it home. The egg roll was crisp and perfectly fried. The Hot and Sour soup was both. The Egg Foo Young was filled with fresh vegetables, likewise the Fried Rice.
We will return and this restaurant deserves your patronage. You will not be disappointed.

When I try a new a Chinese restaurant, I judge them on how good they make crab Rangoon, steamed dumplings and chicken-on;a-sick. My expectations weren’t high since so many have failed the appetizer test, but Oriental Star far far exceeded my expectations! This is my new favorite restaurant! The chicken was tasty and not hard (still juicy), the dumplings were firm and not soggy and the Rangoon were fat and tasty, I’d give it 6 stars if I could . . .
