I don’t eat out a lot, and while Oriental Gourmet is mostly a take-out place, it is the best Chinese place in Auburn, possibly Indiana, maybe the world.
Oriental Gourmet is the most delicious Chinese food I have ever had. Cooked perfect, well seasoned, everything is just spot on. The atmosphere is very cool, and you can tell there is passion in the food and establishment.

Very welcoming and appreciated. The food was amazing. The lunch prices are very affordable. The storage area near the bathroom is the only complaint. It is kind of an eye sore. My family and I will definitely come back.

First time eating at the restaurant, the atmosphere was pleasant as a child was rompering in the dining room, Ordered from the lunch speacial with an extra order of crab rangoon’s my fav.
The orange chicken i ordered was way over cooked, almost to the point it was crunchy… the fried rice was a bit bland and missing the needed flavor we all love.
Hot and sour soup came out warm and had a metalic flavor to it, i took a mouthfull and placed that to the side. The egg roll was mostly cabbage, missing veg and was not tastefull, my original hopes were hi for the mom and pop run restaurant, some spots have that authentic flavor,this is not one of them unfortunally.⭐️

I’ve been going this place for years! Its consistent and the quality hits every time. The staff is always really friendly and attentive as soon as you come in and they always have my food ready when I get there. I support them over panda any day

Pictured is the lunch serving of General Tso Chicken. The staff is always extremely friendly. We’ve been a fan of this restaurant over the years. I feel like they’ve done some adjustments to their recipes, and today it was simply amazing. The chicken was more finely cut, with a perfect crunch. It reminded me of Wu’s Fine Chinese in Fort Wayne (side note-more of upscale Chinese place, also excellent). The atmosphere here is definitely wanting, but if you don’t mind a rugged feel, then that doesn’t really matter anyways. Very casual. They serve soda in cans, no fountain drinks.

I used to go here quite a bit! It has always been a favorite for our family but my most recent purchase I was eating and about bit down in a screw! I’m lucky I didn’t put this in my mouth. Be cautious if you order and look through your food. Clearly this place doesn’t have much regard for sanitizing their cooking areas.

The place is dingy and dirty, I’m not sure it would pass a safety inspection. Obviously a family operation, there were several children playing in the food prep area, and one taking orders. She got mine wrong. Just as well, the food was barely edible, although served in generous quantities. One and done with this dreadful place.
