Wrapped up fun in the sun with some friends and the kiddos were in the mood for ice cream. After spending hours at siesta beach. We searched online using sources like yelp to find a place with great reviews and a place near the beach. Orange octopus ice cream came up. Our commute time from one place to the other was only 7 minutes. We get there and parking was dreadful. Parking space is slim to none. The timing worked out in our favor. The young folks did a good job welcoming us in with greetings. The space is narrow and intimate. They helped us order and gave us samples of flavors to try (upon request). They all were very patient with our group of 3 adults and 3 children. The restroom is kept nice and pristine. Since there’s no indoor seating, we sat outside their patio area, sat and enjoyed our treats. If in the area again, we be delighted to go back.

If you’re at the beach you need top notch ice cream. Look no further than Orange Octopus. There are plenty of delicious options to choose from. My favorite ice cream flavors are the key lime pie and the coffee. The ice cream is full of flavor regardless of which kind. You’re welcome to taste before choosing your next scoop. It’s worth the stop on your next beach trip.

Great ice-cream just a block off the beaten path. Probably best ice-cream in Sarasota. It’s a bit hidden but worth it! Made in small batches. Very tasty! Staff is friendly and helpful. Large portions.

Not sure what happened to this place. Have been going here for years and always been good. Decided to give a try last night after dinner and the ice cream was terrible. Weird taste and textures. Rather than finish, I threw it away. Appalled at all of the five star reviews saying it’s the best ice cream they’ve had in their life.

We visited here as it was one of the most highly rated ice cream shops in Sarasota, our son had vanilla which he loved, my wife had an amazing key lime ice cream and I went for two scoops; coffee crunch and salted caramel.
The portion sizes are huge and it is well priced for a tourist destination. We couldn’t actually finish the ice creams as were we full. Parking is a little confusing but we do love this place and will be back when we are in the area again.

I had a non-local who regularly visits that suggested I try the Orange Octopus, and my family was extremely pleased with the ice cream. It’s a drive for us to get to Siesta, but OO has now made us reconsider making more trips out that way! We got chocolate and coffee ice cream. Both were excellent.

Stopped in after dinner at Captain Curt’s and man is this ice cream good!! I grabbed a sample of the Bourbon flavor and was hooked. I highly recommend.
Clean shop, and friendly staff too. The strip has other shops and walkable options so it’s pretty convenient too.

This is some of the BEST ice cream anywhere. Hands down best ice cream in Siesta Key. Sea Salt Caramel flavor is a must! The kids that work there are pleasant and service is quick despite a long line. Don’t waste time with ice cream places in the village.
