We are a cute, little cafe in the western mountains of Maine. We like good food. We like the earth. We like the word ish. We’d like you to come here. Our breakfast menu is small, but delish. We do bagels, breakfast sandwiches, burritos and homemade pastries. Our Lunch consists of large, inventive sandwiches made with top quality ingredients and love, salads, homemade soups and quiche. We also have a small kids menu. We make our own chai, real fruit & yogurt smoothies, homemade hot chocolate, Carrabassett Coffee & Espresso & Mighty Leaf tea all day! Come in and enjoy your meal here on a couch, take it to-go or call us ahead of time and we’ll have it ready for you!

Heard good things about this spot so I came to check it out. Ordered “The Surefire” as a recommendation and was slightly disappointed. It was a very pricey, less-than average sandwich. The dining area however, was chill and quiet.

We haven’t been to OC since they had their shop in Kingfield; but we stopped in yesterday to show our support and WOW, it’s so amazing to visit again. I love the new place, the fun decor (like always) and the parking lot is surprisingly bigger than it appears from the street.

The staff was courteous and friendly (even with us masking due to my health), the bagels were everything and I forgot how much I love their golden milk and hot cocoa (we skipped the sweets, but the chocolate chip cookie was always a favorite and they look as good as ever in the display case).

We will definitely be frequenting more often again and we are sorry it took so long for us to visit again (we really loved the drive through up in Kingfield, but also love them closer to us here in Farmington).

The bagel yesterday was warm, gooey (with cheese) with a perfect egg (yolk was cooked for neatness but still had velvet) and the bacon was crisp without being salty.

Plus…bonus…they support workers rights and believe in the protection of employees (win-win).

Our money will be spent here more…much more often.

And I don’t have photos because we ate the sandwich before even getting home.

Thank you Morgan!

I’ve been coming here for years and it’s better than ever. It has a great vibe; it feels like a coffee shop. It’s a great place to read or socialize. Also a real value. All servers are friendly. Food is excellent. They recently moved to a much larger space which allows people to spread out.

Nice place, very friendly staff. Food was very good. They have a variety of espresso based specialty drinks as well as regular coffee and lots of tea options. Oh and the desert options are backed in house. The Apple Fritter is my favorite. This is a small place with limited seating so you may have to wait for a table or do take out.

Update: March 2024 – We have visited here several times since my last review and it never disappoints. Yesterday I had the chance to try there breakfast burrito with sausage. WOW! what a treat. Hardy and full of flavor, just the right amount of there home made salsa. They have also added more seating with a new bar and some innovative rearrangement. The staff continues to be very pleasant and helpful.

Ordered the vegetarian broccoli soup and found pork sausage in it. That’s not a mistake, that’s a total failure of basic food handling and honesty. If they can’t tell dead pig flesh from broccoli, don’t trust anything coming out of this kitchen. If it had been peanuts, I’d be dead.

Edit: January 30, 2026
This is not fiction.

When the soup was served, multiple servers came to the table, appeared genuinely shocked, apologized, and confirmed that pork sausage should never have been in a vegetarian dish. I was repeatedly told I would receive a refund for the $4 cup of soup.

Later, a manager came out, said she couldn’t find my transaction, and then stated, “if there even was sausage in the soup,” despite the staff having already admitting not knowing what was in the soup, who made the soup or when the soup was made. I never received the promised refund.

I’m sharing exactly what happened. What’s most concerning is not the original error, but the decision to dismiss it afterward rather than take responsibility, especially for a situation involving allergens and food safety.

This was my 1st time here but my friend had been here before. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich and my friend ordered the curry chicken sandwich. Both of us ordered half sandwiches, which were very generous portions, enough for a lunchtime meal. Both were such unique twists on regular chicken & tuna sandwiches that one typically gets at other establishments. The service was very fast, too. It’s such a cute restaurant. My only critique is that they didn’t turn the A/C on and it was hot and stuffy inside. But that won’t sway me from going back there again whenever I’m in Farmington. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Orange Cat Cafe in Farmington has moved!! It’s where Uno Mas used to be. Larger and has more seating same amazing food and tasty drinks. I’m adding some location pictures!

It’s is sooo good. Such a funky and cute vibe. Two small outside tables and inside seating as well. They have wonderful wraps and sandwiches as well as daily soups and special that are amazingly tasty. They also have coffees and a nice tea selection. We have gone here many times and it’s great every time.

There’s also free 2 hour parking on the street which is awesome.

The Orange Cat Café is a regular café. As in there are no cats or animals in the building. Their mascot is, of course, an orange cat. This café serves up amazing food and beverages that will brighten your day. There are lots of great options of both beverages and foods to choose from. Some goods are ready to go, while others are made-to-order.

There seems to always be a crowd here, which is great for business and speaks to the quality of the store’s offerings. Like any busy coffee shop/small eatery, it isn’t fast food but your wait won’t be intolerable either. The staff finds a great balance to get the orders done right and the customers leaving happy.

One of the best parts of small businesses is their actual ties to the community. Big box stores and corporations will run ads about their commitment to the community, but places like Orange Cat Café actually live that life every day. They participate in the town’s Halloween trick-or-treating events, they actively give back to the community, and they offer support and a place for friends to gather in a mountain town that is also a college town.

The only downside is their limited hours. While this hasn’t stopped the business from doing well, it does mean you’ll have to plan your time in Farmington accordingly. Orange Cat Café is a home run in every aspect and you’ll enjoy your meal there.

I love this place. It’s very good and fresh.
Very LGBTQIA+ friendly. Staff wears masks.
The atmosphere is cozy and colorful. The seating is comfortable. It’s a small Cafe with outside seating. I love the lights and the plants. They’re open 10am-3pm everyday and breakfast ends around 11ish.
The “Garden Tuna” is fresh, crunchy, and flavorful. The “Soup of the Day” is always worth it.
