Orafo is a hidden gem perched above San Francisco’s Financial District — a restaurant that blends California boldness with classic Italian soul, all wrapped in Four Seasons elegance. I came here for two breakfasts and one indulgent lunch, and each meal was a perfect mix of thoughtful preparation, fresh ingredients, and flawless service.

The space itself is stunning: airy and sunlit during the day, warm and intimate at night. Whether you’re seated by the windows or tucked into a cozy banquette, it feels like a refined escape from the busy city below.

Must-orders: the seafood soup — rich, comforting, and full of depth — and the perfectly seared steak, which was easily one of the best I’ve had in SF. Everything from the plating to the pacing felt intentional and quietly luxurious.

Whether you’re staying at the hotel or not, Orafo is absolutely worth a visit. It’s effortlessly chic, never pretentious, and ideal for anything from business meetings to slow, indulgent meals above the city.

Absolutely terrible breakfast
1) we ordered avocado toasts. Bread was swimming in oil and I think oil was poured over the toast as well (even though avocado itself is very high in fat). I still feel bitter aftertaste from the bread. I was able to eat only half
2) they could not make poached eggs right, we asked for medium poached with NO runny whites. It should not be that hard, especially for a four seasons chef. I make poached eggs everyday at home and I can make it right with my eyes closed with perfect runny yolks and hard (fully cooked) whites. We sent eggs back twice and they never arrived for the third time although we just asked to make it hard this time.

Poor waitress, she had to apologize to many times. This should not be called four seasons breakfast.

FYI this avo toast is 34$ without eggs. Have to mention – when we asked for a check (we decided just to leave and have breakfast elsewhere) the waitress said that they won’t charge us. I appreciate it, but I don’t mind paying extra when it’s about quality. I came to have no stress breakfast but instead it was such a waste of time.

We stopped in just for drinks a few times during our stay and Anton was an exceptional bartender. We ordered off the menu and also asked him to surprise us, and were not disappointed. He’s great at what he does. Delicious drinks! He’s also just a cool guy and great to chat with.

Orafo at the Four Seasons is a true gem, offering a perfect blend of warm hospitality, delicious food, and outstanding cocktails. This was my third time dining there and my second stay at the hotel, and it never disappoints. The staff are kind and attentive, and the dishes are crafted with precision and creativity. A special shoutout to David, whose espresso Negroni is nothing short of extraordinary—rich, complex, and unforgettable. I will be back ❤️❤️

Disappointed meal for a Four Seasons property.
While Anton the server was pleasant, knowledgeable and very kind he was clearly by himself on a busy Friday night. Appetizer came out incorrectly, pasta cold, burger overcooked. No manager present.

Amazing service, food, and drinks! We stayed at the hotel for our anniversary and decided to bring our extended family here for dinner. We became well acquainted with Anton, an outstanding staff member who served us as both waiter and bartender. His attentiveness and skill truly made the evening memorable. His self-created drinks, which were featured on the menu, were not only delicious but also incredibly creative.

All that being said, I highly recommend!

Dines here twice and both times had an amazing experience. Best in-house made pasta, excellent trout and to die for cocktails.

A couple of important caveats before I dive in: 1) I only came here for lunch, and 2) this is an Italian restaurant, and all I ordered was a salad—so yes, this review is a little unfair. But only a little.

Given that this place is located in the Four Seasons and carries an elevated, upscale atmosphere, I expect that everything on the menu—regardless of how simple—should reflect a baseline of quality and care. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

I ordered the chopped salad, and it was hands down one of the most tasteless, uninspired, and bare-bones salads I’ve ever had. Especially at $24, it felt like a joke. I have no issue paying for good food, but this tasted like someone ran through Trader Joe’s, grabbed a bag of mixed greens, a handful of olives, and doused it in a forgettable vinaigrette. Honestly, a pre-packaged Trader Joe’s salad would’ve had more thought, more flavor, and more value.

I’ve had incredible, even memorable salads at high-end restaurants—salads that feel like part of the experience. This was the opposite: a missed opportunity, and completely off-brand for the Four Seasons. It left me wondering how much (or how little) attention is given to the rest of the menu.

Ansley was fantastic! Great recommendations and service. The Brutus Caesar was perfectly spicy- refreshing twist on a staple. The ribeye was also a quality cut with exceptional flavor. Drinks were top quality- we enjoyed the old fashion with woodenville rye and it was sooo excellent we opted for a rare round 2. We were looking for an easy dinner while staying at the 4 seasons and, based on quality, will now repeat for other day parts. So good!
