GET HERE‼️ When you THINK of SOUL FOOD you BETTER know Ophelia’s food and atmosphere is BEYOND SEASONED with LOVE! The hospitality and service from Edward and Clement was the TRUTH! This was my first time visiting Galveston during the Mardi Gra weekend anf this SOUL FOOD establishment did NOT disappoint‼️I had the catfish & shrimp combo dinner with collard greens and that DELLISH Mac-n-Cheese. My friends and other dishes like the pork chop sandwich! See attached photos. Can I just say EVERYTHING was sooooooo GOODT! I’ve been looking for a good soul food restaurant in the greater houston area and I’m now SOLD OUT on this spot! I will DEFINITELY be BACK!

I wanted good, authentic soul food and landed at Ophelia’s after reading many reviews. I think I caught them at a bad time, because I and several others waited in line for close to 30 mins before anyone even acknowledged we were there. Another woman in line said that this kind of wait was very unusual. Once our orders were taken, the food arrived reasonably quickly. Unfortunately, by that time I was only able to have a few bites because I had to get to a meeting. That said, the shrimp, catfish, hot sauce, and greens were absolutely fantastic and the portions were generous. The Mac and cheese wasn’t my style, but it was very popular with others. If you go, expect a super-barebones space that’s very simply focused on good food.

Came on a late evening for dinner on a recommendation from a friend, and safe to say I was pleasantly surprised. The food was seasoned well and the portion size was very generous. I definitely will be stopping by to support this local small business. Ophelia’s is some of the best seafood I have had in a long time.

Came here yesterday afternoon with some friends, and we had a great time! I got the shrimp combo with green beans and fries. One of my friends got the shrimp combo with mac and cheese and collared greens, and my other friend got wings with yams and collared greens. Everything was reasonably priced and came out quickly. The food was delicious! I would definitely come back.

Just left this spot recommended by our hotel as we are visiting from Ft Worth. Every single person we encountered was very welcoming and friendly. I ordered the catfish with green beans and yams and my wife ordered the fish and shrimp combo with greens and Mac n cheese. Both dishes were absolutely perfect! The owner ( I believe he said his name was Pepper) made us feel like family! If you go and I highly recommend you do, be sure and ask for his ice tea it’s A1! Appreciate your hospitality and we will be sure and come by every time we visit galveston in the future!

I am so glad we decided to eat here. This was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I’m not big on spicy food, and most of it does have a kick, but the flavor was so good, I couldn’t stop eating it. I had the oxtail with Mac and cheese and greens and a cornbread muffin. My husband had the chicken wings and fries and we got the yum yum cake. Everything was so good. We were so relaxed and full that we fell asleep at the table while my husband and I were waiting for our Lyft, and woke up to two customers at the counter The food and atmosphere legit put us to sleep, and I never do that. The music was so good, too. The restroom is currently out of order. Not a complaint, just an FYI. I would eat this every single day if I could. The history of the place is very interesting, so make sure you talk to the owner. He is so friendly. We are going to try to come here again when we get back from our cruise!

If you’re in Galveston and looking for incredible food with flavor, generous portions, and amazing service—Ophelia’s is a must! We tried the Junk Burger, fish and shrimp plate, salmon burger, and their sweet tea, and everything was on point. The Junk Burger is a serious masterpiece, stacked high with flavor and cooked just right. The salmon burger was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the seafood platter—crispy, tender, and fresh.
The portions were huge, the seasoning was just right, and you can tell there’s pride in every plate. On top of that, the service was friendly and fast. The owner, Pepper, made us feel right at home—genuine hospitality all around.

I just wanna start off by saying me and my family LOVED all of our food today! From the junk burger to dessert, everything was cooked to perfection!! The actual restaurant its self created a positive and family like environment and it felt like i was going over to aunties house for thanksgiving! 10/10 would recommend this to everyone in G county ♥️

I don’t usually give 5 stars across the board like this….but you have to give it up to a place that earns it. This place definitely earned every bit of 5 stars. I have been to many restaurants in Galveston none can compare. I ordered the seafood plate and the food was fresh, hot and cooked to order. The favor was on point and even the steak fries were seasoned. The price for the amount of food that I received was definately reasonable. I definitely will be back to visit everytime I hit Galveston. Just consider me like a carousel….every time you turn around you see me again! Lol!
