I found Op La restaurant when searching for “Bun Bo Hue in CPH” on Google. After checking out their menu, I decided to go here even though it’s quite far from where I lived. They not only serve Bun Bo Hue, but also Bo La Lot, and Che Ba Mau which quite hard to find at other Viet restaurants. I didn’t expect to find good Vietnamese restaurant in CPH, but Op La was definitely a pleasant surprise. I ordered Bun Bo Hue, spring roll, Bun Cha Gio thit nuong ( grill pork with egg rolls vermicelli) and homemade lemonade. Everything was delicious and authentic. Service was friendly, fast and welcoming. The restaurant is roomy, clean and well decorated. I love these Non La lightings showcase the Viet dishes. If you want to have authentic Viet dishes, come to Op La Restaurant on Vesterbrogade. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

A Hidden Gem in Copenhagen: Unmissable Vietnamese Delight**

Discovering this Vietnamese restaurant was a delightful surprise! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service from the friendly, service-minded staff. This place truly stands out in Copenhagen.

The food is nothing short of spectacular. Each dish bursts with rich, authentic flavors, and you can tell that they use only the best ingredients. Whether you’re a meat lover, vegetarian, or vegan, they have options to suit every palate. As a vegetarian, I was especially impressed with the delicious and varied choices available.

If you’re in Copenhagen, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t regret it!

Quite unique vietnamese restaurant in Copenhagen. Good and different collection in their menu. Rice pancakes was something first time I tried and were quite filling. Great lemon tea as well. Very much recommended.

Op la

As a Vietnamese American with a French Dane, we love embracing our the excellent food that embraces both of our heritage (for me, all Vietnamese food. For him, the baguette used in a Banh Mi).

Before we divulge in the intimate details of our dining, let’s just say morale was an all time low and we were considering ending our courtship. A long day of work from home for him waiting for new internet (he LOVES the office and specifically this very cute coworker he has who likes to come in on Fridays) and I had a long and daunting trip to my office in Søborg. Our ceramics class was sub par, it was raining, and my sock was twisted a bit causing uncomfortable rubbing. We did not know what could save us other than a culinary journey to our cultural roots.

As we walked through the door to the intimate space of Opla 2 (Vesterbrogade) we were greeted wholeheartedly by our wonderful hostess. Behind her, the chef could be spotted in the kitchen, confidently handling the griddle. We were shown to our table, and were immediately struck by the intricate decor of the place. The walls were covered with inspiring local paintings, charming greenery, and lamps that simply must just be experienced. Never have we been to a restaurant with such character and spirit.

Let’s get to it. We ordered the Pho. Simply a must-try! We loved the assortment of greens they gave us as a starter for it. With some experimentation, we also found it be well suited for the soup! We also had the pork spare ribs. Probably the best we have had in Copenhagen. The plating detail cannot be understated, and Op La simply nails it. See photos!

My petit ami was, initially, slightly concerned by the lack of baguette to be found, but was quickly comforted by the soothing pho and salivating ribs.

Perhaps a note of caution for the sensitive palate. They have sauces on the table and the jar of red chili paste is S-P-I-C-Y!!!!!!! 5 stars

Probably the best Vietnamese restaurant in Copenhagen! Their banh xeo was super crunchy, filled with prawn and pork and served with a generous side of lettuce and herbs.

The owner was extremely nice and helpful, we can’t wait to come back to try the rest of the menu!

Best service I saw in Copenhagen so far. I heard many laughters from the kitchen, feel like everyone working here are having fun.

All the noodles was delicious and authentic. Perfect for cold weather. Their beef soup noodle (bún bò Huế) was even better, very much like a comfort food.

One of the few authentic places for Vietnamese food in Copenhagen. Everything we ordered was delicious and came as huge portions. Glad to find Chả rế (rice net spring roll) and Bò lá lốt (beef betel leaf) which are quite hard to find normally abroad. The service was so kind and attentive.

From the first moment of entering this place I already got a very family-run restaurant vibe. This is a good sign that the food is authentically Vietnamese. I’m a fan of the basic pho but I went for different options this time after reading the reviews.

1) Little pancakes with filling.
This is the first time I’m trying this dish (never seen this in Paris/Amsterdam/London) and I’m in love. The crust is so crunchy filled with juicy and al dente fillings. Dip this with the sauce that comes with and/or wrap it in the lettuce. The whole experience is fun and delicious.

2) Sugar cane juice
This tastes refreshing, sweet but not too sweet and the serving is very generous.

3) Tomato-y broth rice noodles with meatballs and tofu
At this point I’m already full and still drank half of the broth because it was so good! Ate the rest of it cold and was still delicious. This is a place that I would go to regularly if I had the chance.

Total bill was 413DKK / 56€. Given the generous portions which can easily feed 2 persons, I wouldn’t consider this place expensive for CPH.

Overall good quality, authentic Vietnamese food with an unique touch and very nice people. Thank you! 🙂
