A friend if a friend recommended this place so we decided to give it try. We couldn’t get through by phone for reservations but were able to get a seat at 11:30 Friday without a problem. We got the $69 sushi set B and all of it was delicious! The fish was soft and fresh and the size was generous. Albacore is not one I usually like but theirs was quite good. The amount of soy sauce was just right too. The staff were all super nice too. I wanted to try the rolls but I was full already. I will definitely be back.

We have the $150/person course. All fish are fresh and some presentation are pretty nice. All staff are nice and friendly and will keep up with your eating pace. I wish they can go easy on the sauce as it can sometimes overpower the sashimi itself and lose the theme of the dish. Dining area is more business casual woth dark themed so it’s more for business or quick lunch. Ootoro are still consistent with their fish quality and will always be one of my top sushi spot.

Having visited both the Irvine and Tustin locations, I can attest that both were outstanding. The food quality and service were impressive. The sashimi was remarkably fresh. The toro truffle dish and wagyu fried rice were highlights of my meal. Although the prices were somewhat steep, the experience was worth the cost. One notable difference between the two locations was the parking, which was more challenging in Irvine than in Tustin.

The tuna hand roll was so delicious.
I am a big fan of unagi and the quality is that which you would find in Japan, very tender and delicious.
The atmosphere is very dark modern soothing which feels very classy, absolutely a great date night idea.
Staff were very attentive and service was fast. Highly recommend this restaurant for sushi lovers.
Wasabi is very fresh as well.

The tuna roll was disappointing—the seaweed was soggy, poorly rolled, and kept falling apart. The sushi rice was too hard and cut too small. The first few pieces of sushi were overwhelmingly sour, as if the chef was trying too hard with the flavors.

Staff attitude was fine, but both servers seemed inexperienced. They forgot the wasabi at first, then brought it but forgot the soy sauce.
Atmosphere: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆
Chic and stylish interior, though it could use more tables.
Overall, for a $60 lunch including service, I’d choose to go elsewhere.

My family and I came in and had an amazing experience! The sushi was SO good and fresh, very high quality. All of the fish really just melts in your mouth.
Dad: Chef’s choice omakase
Mom: Sushi set B + Uni pasta
Me: Sushi set B + 2 salmon hand rolls 1 toro hand roll + wagyu nigiri
Sister: Dinner chirashi + 1 salmon handroll
One of the best sushi I’ve had so far! One of the employees, I’m assuming the manager? Gave all of us dessert on the house. Definitely coming back.

The staff were very nice and attentive, and everyone seemed to work as a team to make sure all who were dining was having a good experience. The host who seated me also gave great recommendations, and everything I tried was delicious. I recommend the Toro and the Me-dai- very fresh!

the best sushi in irvine i have had so far. the main one doesn’t do rolls but this one does. super fresh, a little pricier than other places bur absolutely fantastic.
their website sucks for ordering so i used postmates. the only thing i will ding them for is charging more than i was quoted on postmates. not sure why. but it shouldn’t be a surprise.
