This is a ramen place, but what I actually found the most interesting was their fried chicken. Specifically, their Ayam Goreng – Malaysian fried chicken.
Side note: It is funny hearing solely Spanish being spoken and Spanish music blasting in the kitchen of a ramen place. Not any reflection on quality, just found it amusing
Compared to all the fried chicken I’ve had – this is certainly a unique one. The emphasis is on the multitude of spices used in the breading, and these aren’t traditional spices either – like the 7 herbs or spices. These are very unique to find on fried foods here, like turmeric, garlic, bay leaves, lemongrass, etc…
It’s also interesting that it doesn’t really have batter in a traditional sense.
I have to say – it works fantastically well. The spice flavor reminds me a lot of the Betutu dishes I had in Bali; the same spice flavor profile is used. Here, the flavors seep deep into the chicken skin, leaving an amazing aroma that is the first thing you notice. Seriously, when getting this as takeout, the first time I smelled it I was not ready for how good that smell was.
It carries through in the bites as well. While my only gripe with the seasoning is that it’s not spicy at all, I do taste the variety of additional spices in it very well.
You can just tell by the deep reddish brown color how well seasoned it is.
The breading is also very good – the skin gets really crispy throughout, and at several points, the flakiness is extremely strong.
The inside of the meat is also so juicy. Despite the fact that it’s dark meat, it is one of the juiciest chicken I’ve had.
The portion size is pretty insane. For just $14, I got 500+ grams of fried chicken in three massive pieces. The fact that this is served normally as an appetizer is insane – this is like a meal and a half. The value per dollar on this is wild.
Overall, it’s a unique style of fried chicken that I haven’t had before, but it delivers immensely to create a fantastic experience. 9/10

The Ramen is top 5 I’ve ever had. BUT do not forget to order the Fried Chicken Thigh! Pairs so well just dipping it in your soup. Just to set expectations, it’s small, you bus your own food, and it might not look like it but there is a restroom.

Cozy noodle shop. We had Ramen bowls. I added veggies to mine my son added seaweed. We each had the Japanese IPA. The bowls were bountiful, very well spiced, lots of garlic. Very satisfying on what would become a snowy day in Seattle. Thanks again!

The food is absolutely incredible! Must-tries include the mala ramen and the Malaysian spicy fried chicken. We loved our meal and will be recommending this place to anyone seeking a truly unique ramen experience you won’t find anywhere else in Seattle.

A pretty nice spot. Small but comfy. Seating can be really rough if you have more the three people with you. Had the shoyu and the broth was pretty flavorful with the noodles having a nice consistency. The eggs your the best I’ve had yet from a ramen spot in seattle!! Pork was pretty dry and flaky but still good. Fastest serve also after order!! Great spot for a lunch time meal. Will definitely try more options!!

Excellent! We got the Kotteri and Shio Ramens. Both had delicious flavorful broth that was on the salty side (which I loved). The pork was tender and easily came apart. The noodles were tasty as well. I’d highly recommend this ramen as it is one of the best I have tried in Seattle! The location is above QFC and is quite small with limited seating and small tables. The service was great.

Don’t let the hole in the wall appearance fool you. There is a steady stream of customers and the tables stayed full. Owner was so nice and didnt make fun of me asking for a fork! Would definitely eat there again!

Was looking forward to trying this shop since i saw the good reviews… was met with mediocre ramen in a tiny shop. Literally sitting on stools in a cramped dining area, you pay $20 to order at a tablet and grab your own food from a counter. Barely any interaction at all from staff. Broth was okay, but pork, egg, and noodles were all overcooked and cold. Won’t be coming back, unfortunately.

Utterly unpretentious. Ooink is an establishment that sells you their main idea the moment you register its name. Great ramen that is honestly on par with Danbo’s, friendly service. Restaurant could be a little livelier in terms of decorations but no complaints here.
Ironically, their chicken products are on par if not even tastier than the pork offerings. Health enthusiasts and protein addicts rejoice.

The food was tasty and the service was fast. It’s self service place and you buss your own table. It’s good for in and out quick meal. We parked in the supermarket and it was free for an hour. We did shop afterwards at the market.
