On 2012, we decided to import a massive brick oven made 100% from lavic materials from the Vesuvius in Napoli. It reaches the 1000 degrees in temperature, making possible our Neapolitan pizza style. All the ingredients use in Onlywood Pizzeria are italian or homemade. We use 00 flour and a special San Marzano tomato sauce imported from Italy as our homemade famous Mozzarella. About the food you’ll taste Homemade Gnocchi, Fresh Fettuccine and Lasagna, Homemade Meatballs, Bolognese Sauce and others. We can surprise you by cooking fresh local seafoods and special plates that we change every day, always sticking to the Italian Style. We are located in a little alleyway downtown Key West! Onlywood Pizzeria Trattoria to your service!
Breezy Italian eatery offering a shaded garden patio, wood-fired pizzas & an old-world wine list.

Food:
We didn’t have a reservation, and there were six of us. They invited us to sit at the bar, order drinks, and wait for a table. While at the bar, which was just large enough for our group, we ordered a round of drinks. My wife and I shared a half carafe of sangria, and it was very good.
We ordered a couple of appetizers, including the bruschetta and fried calamari. It took a while for them to arrive, and by the time they did, we had already been seated at our table. The bruschetta was excellent, with nicely diced, well-seasoned tomatoes piled generously on toasted bread.
The calamari, however, was probably the worst I’ve had. The pieces were unusually large, tough, and lacked flavor. They needed salt just to bring out any taste.
The rest of the meal also took some time to arrive. Unfortunately, the pizzas were only lukewarm and lacked flavor. The crust wasn’t fully cooked and was limp, making the slices difficult to eat without folding them.
Even the carbonara, the most expensive item we ordered, was underwhelming.
Service:
The service at the bar was excellent. The bartender did a great job getting us settled in, serving drinks promptly, and offering to take our food order while we waited. He was friendly and attentive.
The table service was adequate, and our order was taken in a reasonable amount of time. However, it was frustrating that the appetizers we had ordered at the bar didn’t arrive until about 20 minutes later. The rest of the food came out together, but the quality didn’t meet expectations.
Atmosphere:
It’s a small but charming space. There is indoor seating, where we were seated, as well as outdoor seating in a courtyard setting. It was a beautiful evening, and the environment felt warm and inviting.
This restaurant has strong ratings, but given the many excellent dining options in Key West, this isn’t a place we would plan to return to. Perhaps it was just an off night, but there are too many great alternatives to take that chance.
And then… the food.
Oh. My. God.
We had the pizza, the homemade fettuccine bolognese, the “alfredo,” and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Every single bite was divine. Fresh, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with intention. Possibly the best italian cuisine I’ve had outside of Italy. No weak links on the table.
Do yourself a favor and do not skip this place when you’re in Key West. It’s a hidden ( literally tucked-away) gem that completely lives up to the hype. Worth the wait, worth the calories, worth the praise.
This place is a great choice if you’re looking for good Italian food in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
A big thank you to everyone who made my birthday so special — great food, great company, and great memories. Highly recommended!
Down a little hidden alley off Duval Street, Onlywood is the go-to spot for locals and in-the-know visitors when they get an Italian craving. Their secret? A brick oven built from Mount Vesuvius lava rock that gets hotter than August in Key West—perfect for real Neapolitan pizza.
I went full heat with The Devil pizza (loved the spice), while my wife went Bolognese alla Gnocchi—comfort food perfection. Neither of us spoke for a solid 10 minutes. That good.
If you know, you know. And if you don’t, fix that.
You Should Be Here,

Service is extremely attentive and the patio is quaint and perfect for a date night.
We had the most divine pizzas here. Fresh, tasty, traditional and served with a smile.
I’m not sure what I liked most, the food or the service.
A real friendly/family/happy feeling, all the staff seemed to get on well, be happy in their work and provided great hospitality.
Thank you so much for making our visit to Key West memorable. Special thanks to the ladies I caught the names of Gina and Celeste.
