I am visiting from AZ and discovered OTB still exist here in Wichita, KS. All AZ locations have been closed. I was excited and decided to stop in for the Monterey Chicken fajitas. OTB did not disappoint. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the food is superb. The chips & salsa were fresh and the fajitas were juicy and delicious and the tortillas were non-stop. The restaurant is clean, including the bathrooms, and the other diners were having a great time. The next time you visit try a frozen Strawberry Margarita. Thanks for a memorable dining experience. Shout out to Lacey, you rock!

The new menu is fantastic and the new fajitas taste amazing!
Shout out to Robert, you rock!

I’m so sad to write this. On The Border has ALWAYS been my favorite restaurant. My family treats me here for all special occasions but today was officially the last time I will ever be back. There have been way to many changes. It’s nasty! The refired beans are like soup, the chicken was watery and tasted like tomato paste in my taco. They no longer have hot salsa and the past two times I have been they were out of Mexican rice. It’s a Mexican restaurant for peets sake. The flauta’s have a nasty sauce on them and they don’t come with queso anymore. I’m so sad that this company has ruined a great thing. Everything is different on the menu and I have yet to find any good. I feel sorry for the staff. I tipped my waitress extra because I honestly feel she’s going to be unemployed this year . Yuck!

I arrived a half hour before closing. Hence, I was fully expecting a rushed dining experience. Likewise I anticipated that most servers would be working on their closing checklists so I didn’t expect great service.

I was mistaken.

Every single staff member was kind, attentive, and didn’t make me feel even the slightest bit rushed. Miranda was phenomenal and had an upbeat and infectiously positive attitude.

The food was delicious. I had the Grande Taco Salad with chicken and it was very nicely prepared.

Like most restaurants, OTB’s menu is smaller than it used to be, but there are still some excellent options to choose from. This particular location is one the company can be very proud of. The staff cannot receive enough praise.

The menu has changed! I got the Crispy Fish Tacos (formerly the Dos XX fish tacos) and they were just not good. The fish was a little overcooked and was bland!! They changed their refried beans and Mexican rice recipe and all I could taste was cumin. I didnt not care for it all.
My husband got chicken fajitas and it only came with sauted onion, no peppers. He enjoyed his fajitas though. He saidnthe beans and rice were okay. Service was amazing and the restaurant was clean. We went early evening and it wasnt busy.

WARNING: THEY CHANGED ALL THEIR RECIPES! They changed all the recipes to the food and it is awful. Different salsa, different queso, different empanadas, different chips. WHY?? You change the recipes that were actually good and replaced it with nasty food. We will not be coming back. YUCK!

There was a lot of confusion about how the food was supposed to come out it was corrected the waitress was not informed by whoever the other lady was that came to our table but she gladly fixed it it seems like she had a little bit of an attitude but she was still very polite. She refilled the drinks a couple of times and then the restaurant got very busy and after that it seems like she forgot about us. We ended up having to get the manager to come over to give us bags and drink refills. The waitress didn’t bother to even clear the table as you can see in the picture below. The manager was walking by and cleared one of the sets of dishes so I then took the other set from the back of the table and put it to the edge of the table and even though the waitress walked by numerous times she’s still never took it. Looked at me no numerous times looked at my cousin numerous times I don’t know if we pissed her off I don’t know what the deal was but we were told one thing by one lady and then another thing by our way just but like I said in the beginning she very happily fixed it I don’t know what was said you know when she left her table but we very rarely saw her throughout the the time we were there and that ruined the experience. Now because of the mix of the manager did give us 20% off of our meal at which we truly appreciated it was just I guess the fact that we had to keep asking somebody else for things because our waitress hardly ever came back. Now again like I said it was very busy and I can understand but when you’re at a table right next to us and you look at us you just didn’t want to come back I don’t care what you say.

The food is really sub-par. The food is too expensive for the quality and taste. The food menu is very mundane and lackluster. Why go On The Border? What do they provide that Taco Bell, Taco Casa or Rosa’s don’t? What uniqueness do they bring t o the dining environment? Nothing, the answer to both questions. Don’t go if you want good food and / or a good value.

The East Wichita OTB in Bradley Fair, on Rock and just south of 21st Street. This is my favorite location of the chain and I praise every bite I’ve had here. The chips and salsa are my favorite in town and start off the meal with a bang. The entree served was a fantastic beef burrito covered in queso and came with delicious rice and beans, along with an awesome red, white, and blue margarita. With a fairly priced lunch menu and exceptionally kind service, this most recent trip here was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend this On The Border to all of Wichita.
