I had never gone to this Holland restaurant because I’m not a big fan of chain restaurants. However, I was so pleasantly surprised by this spot. I had a delicious taco salad and an amazing Texas Mule. Our waitress was so friendly and it’s a pretty cute atmosphere. I’m happy to say that I’ll go back!

The birria tacos were really tasty with the broth. The side of guacamole was decent, but not worth almost $9. Chips and salsa are a winner.

We’ve never been here before. We were up this way for a pool league tournament and figured it’s gotta be similar to some of the decent mexican/tex Mexico food chains near us.
Upon walking in it was a cool quiet atmosphere, decorated nicely with unique fixtures. And the hostess seated us right away and was very polite.
Waitress was polite and smiley however forgot my lemon for my drink and my queso for my chips. There were not more than 7 maybe 8 tables seated the entire time we were there. 2 to 3 waitresses a bar tender and manager all within site. Tables not checked on frequently.
Bathroom trashes over flowing, long waits in between food coming and being checked on, lack of attention when they notice you staring or waiting. One table got chips and then left shortly after. By the time we left there were 4 tables still seated and atleast 6 dirty tables 5 of which were dirty when we walked in with trash and dishes. The bartender went to the rest room, dis not today it up. No one seemed to be in a hurry to buss tables which lack of business gave them many opportunities. The manager I’m assuming by the shirt difference, didn’t walk out from behind the bar to check on anything, give attention as to why things weren’t being done, nor acknowledge a lack of attention to things. Someone came in with dairy queen ice cream and he and her sat behind the bar eating it and chit chatting, again all while he could have been helping Staff to buss tables or to get attention to issues needing to be fixed.
Food was bland. Not worth the money spent. We left half our food as I saw at other tables as well. I ordered a sampler which had chicken quesadilla, chicken flautas, and steak nachos, husband had steak fajitas. Steak fajitas came literally with 5/6 straps of steak. Nachos looked microwaved. No seasonings. Guacamole was simply smashed avocado. Pico was all tomatoes. Chips looked like they broke crunchy taco shells in half and heated them in the microwave or under a light.
Not on my list to return.
Sad honestly, in a great part of town, across from a new college campus, right off the main drag, not a lot of places open after 7pm so they should get decent business…. now I see why they weren’t busy.

A wonderful hideaway off the high-a-way. Great Tex-Mex with their own flair. Lots of different food options and combos, margaritas that flow like water, and waitstaff that is world class. I know people think “authentic” Mexican is the only type that can be delicious, but if your heart is in it, and you care about your customers, anything can be grand.

Everything about this place is fantastic!! Food, service and prices. You just have to go and check it out yourself. This time I had the Gran Papi. A new dish with 5 different things on it. My wife had the fajita chicken salad.. We highly recommend this Mexican restaurant!!!

I love the street chicken tacos so delicious and flavorful my usual go too. Today I decided to get chicken fajitas omg so delicious. The food was steaming hot the peppers and onions gave the chicken that much more flavor. I love the rice and beans and all the toppings you get for the fajitas (lettuce,pico,guac,sour cream and cheese) and on Wednesdays like today I got all that for 9.99. best 10$ I spent in a while. And the waiter went above and beyond for us.

Tasty , but expensive and you don’t get a lot for your money…like barely anything! Did they run out of meat today or other ingredients?! I’m very upset as this was nearly $15 for small tacos! I definitely will not be coming back here again and I’ll be telling others to not come.

My plate got switched with someone else’s. They remade both and offered to comp it which I said no cause it’s not a bad deal. When I got my food it was very good and hot. Server was great even under pressure.

Overall, On the Border has overpriced, delicious food with friendly and fast service.
The chips were spectacular! Wow!
The salsa was excellent.
The soft drink choices were unsatisfyingly limited; they didn’t even offer horchata.
We were impressed with the flavor of refried beans.
The queso was complex and thick.
The classic burrito was okay.
The XX fish tacos were refreshingly delicious.
The rice was boring.
In summary, I had a high quality experience, but I think they don’t want people to eat here with how high the prices were for food.

The white fish was amazing! Great atmosphere and decor. Stopped in for a dinner on my business trip and was very pleased. My only negative would be it is very hard to get the attention of the bartender and I ate at the bar. She was extremely nice but very busy… I think she could use a little support.
