Do yourself a favor and go next door to Chuy’s. Other than the chips & salsa, everything is better there. Growing up, On the Border was one of my favorite restaurant chains. I guess that’s why I keep trying them when I go somewhere new. I think it’s time to accept this chain has long passed the point of no return to being a good dining experience. We ordered a margarita flight and I don’t think there was any alcohol, just fruity drinks. The food was okay at this location, but the service was abysmal. From the sound of it, all of the staff was in the kitchen having a good time because our food came out barely warm and our waitress disappeared for the entirety of our meal. The place was empty so that made the poor service even more annoying. I do not recommend this restaurant.

A good Mexican restaurant in the Woodbridge Area
This is in a stand-alone building on the south side of Prince William Parkway a short distance from the i-95 intersection. There is plenty of parking on 2 sides of the restaurant. The entrance is on the side nearest the main street and has the look and feel of a Mexican restaurant with a long tin awning, a distinctive front facade, and an adobe look to it. We were greeted at the host/hostess station and led to a table. There is a bar to the right and tables and booths to the center and left as you enter the establishment. The overall restaurant was clean and the tables appeared to be cleaned quickly once parties left. My party arrived during a torrential thunderstorm and there were several leaks in the roof requiring the use of several buckets in the room with tables and booths. The waitress was quick and efficient and checked on us frequently. The menu has a large selection of food dishes with costs for each meal about $10-$15 per person. Chips with salsa came complimentary as soon as we were seated. Both were very good. We all ordered different dishes from tacos to fajitas. The food came out in about 10 -15 minutes. Each dish seemed like large portions and was very good. Overall, it was a pleasant experience that I would recommend to my fellow travelers who are hungry for a good meal in the area. Enjoy!

Had some issues this past visit when celebrate my brother in law’s birthday. First, they would sit us in a location away from the door because they said it was closed even though the restaurant was less than 10-15% occupied. Then it look almost 1 hr to get our food. Some got all you can enchiladas and it took forever to get 2nd order. No one got 3rd order since the service was so slow. The food was okay but it just wasn’t a good experience thus time around.

I had a great time, I don’t know how they didn’t have a single other customer dining there when we went. We ordered the empanadas, which were just as good as they were when I was a kid. The steak fajita, and shrimp tacos. The portions were big and we left feeling very satisfied! Wish there were more customers dining here!

Sunday we decided on on the border Mexican food, to be honest I can eat Mexican food everyday!!!!being overseas for four years I have missed Mexican food. Today didn’t disappoint it was hot the Chile relleno 10/10 was really good, one thing I noticed out in VA it seems like a lot of the Mexican food uses like a processed cheese however not on the border. We also had a fish taco which was ok, I like my crispy taco really crispy. So 6/10 beans were good and rice was ok.

Our waitress was so sweet and kind, we would defiantly sit in Georgina’s section again, thank you for being so kind and a great server!

Very bad experience. I don’t know what happened to this beautiful and delicious restaurant, now it’s dirty, liquid spilled everywhere on the floor, the service very, very slow (you have to wait a long time for drinks and food). The house margarita drink is not full to the top and the tequila is not added and you have to wait more than 10 minutes. I had to wait for almost 20 minutes for the food and it was dry and burned, the taste is terrible (the ingredients together and not separately so that it has a little flavor) He left the photos for you to see what I’m talking about. The only thing he could say is that the service was good, but that’s all no more comments for the service.

Can really speak for service or atmosphere since we ordered delivery but for the price of the carne asada I did not expect so little food. Picture below is freshly opened. It was on its side upon delivery so all the food went into the smaller dividers and it fit into both with no problem. Is this normal portion sizes? If so go anywhere else.

Honestly I’m writing this review based on the customer service I received. It was phenomenal!! When I arrived pr 5:50 I sat at the bar and there was only 1 bartender attending the area. She was very friendly and was very prompt in attending to me and getting my order filled. Unfortunately for her, she had to deal with rude customers that had no patience but she still remained customer service friendly and tried her best to accommodate everyone’s requests. Mabey Management should look into getting more help. That might help with the bad customer service reviews. I’m happy with the customer service I received. The drinks were good although The food was ok. Not bad though.

This was the first time trying this place. The waitress was very nice. We got seated immediately, the place wasnt busy at all. We ordered the chicken and shrimp fajita combo and a beer. According to hubby his beans and rice were seasoned pretty well. The veggies were okay too. Made a Fajita with the chicken it was okay. Made one with the shrimp and that was it…unfortunately I asked hubby to tasted then I had to run to the restroom. The SHRIMP WAS BAD. Got back to the table and drank most of hubbies to get the taste out if my mouth. The waitress was apologetic and she said they tasted and it was bad. I certainly didn’t want anything else.she brought us the check which only had the beer on it. Honestly I was surprised we got any type of bill at all. Never again.

Food always great. If you like queso yum. Fajitas or border bowl. Ask for the spicy habanero salsa.
