Absolutely love this place and the people! The hostess is always so sweet and smiley, food is always great, and so many options depending on your craving! I will say, my birria tacos didn’t hit once when I did take-out, but other than that, perfect service every time. I’ve been here for birthdays, girls night, family outing and it’s just always been an awesome restaurant for a good time. Highly recommend!

I had such a great experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and clearly made with care. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. What made it even better was the service—our waitress, Tony, was incredibly sweet and friendly. She helped us choose our dishes with a big smile and made sure we had everything we needed. I’ll definitely be coming back again, and I highly recommend this place to anyone! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This was my second time visiting On The Border, and once again, I had a great experience! The place wasn’t too crowded, which made it even more enjoyable. I tried something new this time — while the food didn’t feel super fresh, the flavor was still really good. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite spots!

Huge shoutout to our waitress Toni — she was so sweet and welcoming. Honestly, having someone like her around is one of the reasons I came back. The restaurant should be proud to have such a lovely team member!

And the dessert… wow! I had the fried Oreos with vanilla ice cream, and they were absolutely amazing. Everything was tasty, the vibes were nice, and the prices were more than fair as always. Definitely coming back again!❤️

Had a late lunch with my kids on Saturday, and wish we had gone elsewhere. The food had zero flavor and gave “fast food standards “. Thought it was Taco Bell. It lacked seasoning, considering it’s a Mexican restaurant. The salsa was watery and tasteless . The server also appeared overwhelmed, and took forever to get our order, even though the restaurant was empty! Would definitely not recommend it.

We visited this restaurant on Labor Day. Upon entering, we were not greeted, and the host immediately asked us to take our baby out of the stroller because it would be “in the way.” This was surprising, as the restaurant was nearly empty, there were maybe 10 people there, at most. It seems strollers are not allowed inside.
Despite the less than welcoming start, our experience improved thanks to our excellent waitress. She was kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and even recommended a dish that I ended up ordering and was very pleased with. She checked in on us several times to ensure we were enjoying our meal and refilled our drinks without us having to ask.

The food itself was cooked to perfection.

Due to the host’s insistence about the stroller, we opted to sit outside. While the outdoor seating area was pleasant, it was quite windy, causing our napkins and menus to blow around. Despite this, we still managed to enjoy our time.

The Worst On The Border in the Entire Country – Allentown, PA Should Be Shut Down

I’ve been to all 48 states, and without hesitation, this is the absolute worst On The Border location I’ve ever experienced—and quite possibly the worst restaurant I’ve ever set foot in. Located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, this place is a disaster waiting to happen. If corporate doesn’t step in immediately to either shut it down or enforce serious corrective action, someone is going to end up in the hospital—or worse.

Let’s talk about the food:
• The shrimp was spoiled and slimy—reeked of rot the moment it hit the table.
• The steak was sour, chewy, and clearly expired—no seasoning could mask that foul taste.
• The pork? Inedible. Fully rancid and clearly not safe for consumption.

This wasn’t just disappointing—it was dangerous. This food was not mishandled by mistake; it felt like the result of total negligence. There is zero chance the kitchen passed a proper inspection. Whoever is managing food quality at this location has no business working in the restaurant industry.

The dining room was nearly empty on a Thursday night—now I know why. The locals have clearly caught on. It’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously ill. And when that happens, it won’t just be a tragedy—it’ll be a massive lawsuit. Someone will get rich, and someone else will have to answer for this gross negligence.

Shame on the franchise owner for letting this happen. Shame on the restaurant manager for failing to act. And shame on the kitchen staff for serving food that should’ve been thrown away days ago. If you care about your health, stay far away from this location.

Corporate: do something now. This place is an embarrassment to your brand and a threat to public safety.

The food was good. We got Grande Taco Bowls, Firecracker Jalapeno Poppers, and Fija Quesadilla. They changed up the Firecracker Jalapeno Poppers, and they are no longer in a stick a you get less the amount of poppers, along with ranch dressing instead of the cheese sauce. As for the breading, for both the Taco Bowl and Poppers felt like the oil wasn’t hot enough when they cooked them. With that being said, it was still a good meal and we continue to come back. You can’t hit a home run each time but this was a nice meal. The service was great! With the overall atmosphere, there was no music or anything like that. It felt like you were in a cafeteria in terms of no background noise other than people talking. We will still be back!

I dine at on the border on a weekend with my family, our food was great and drinks are always good. This restaurant seems to have issues with strollers and kids what I overheard really left me feeling uncomfortable about this environment. As someone who also managed a restaurant in the past i would never in a million years make a family feel unwelcome to my restaurant . It was highly disappointing to see this level of discourtesy towards guests. This restaurant is described as family friendly but the manager decided to tell this table near me that their child was being too loud and disturbing the rest of us! I was absolutely shocked and furious that someone would be so offended by a child crying! Children cry!  it’s absolutely ridiculous and absurd to even interrupt a table just to let them know this, from my perspective the family did not take it lightly and left shortly afterwords wish I would’ve got the name of the manager.

The food was okay overall. The drinks on the sweet side although it would have been nice to have a choice between a salt or sugar rim. My main complaint was the wait time. Our group waited almost 2 hours on cinco de mayo because other guests were sitting at the tables not really eating or drinking. And when we asked we were told they have no time limits for guests no longer consuming. We were told our wait time would be about 45 minutes when we arrived. The extended wait time was disappointing. On the positive side, our waitress was pleasant and tried to be attentive.

Foods great, service is wonderful, and the atmosphere is great for a family restaurant. We’ve been going for a long time and will be continuing to go. We recommend asking for Chelsea. She is very passionate and always takes care of us with the best service. Overall an amazing and affordable family restaurant.
