Pretty good but not great.
Miso and salad were tasty. We ordered enough to get free gyoza(over $50x you get a free app).
Chicken teriyaki was very dry. Teriyaki sauce was tasty but not enough to rescue the chicken.
Sushi rolls were hit or miss. Negi Hama is simple and done well in. Spicy tuna roll had no hint of spicy that I could detect.
Salmon nigiri was very good but O Toro was just okay.
We also ordered a chicken thigh robata skewer that was delicious and had a spicy seasoning. Definitely try the robata.
Service was adequate but the screaming kid definitely detracted but not the restaurant’s fault.

Excellent! Food was amazing and great service too! Worth going and eating in. We had a few rolls, nigiris, chicken kara age (fried chicken thighs) and kushiyakis (skewers). Our favorite roll was the Giza with torched Salmon. Very reasonable price too! We ordered a lot and paid less than 50 per person.

One of the top Japanese restaurants I have ate at out here in Mass. The sushi was not the best but good enough. Everything else we ordered was very delicious. The one thing that made it over the top for me is that they sold Orion beer from Okinawa Japan on tap. It took me a hot minute the find this supreme Japanese beer out here in Mass. I highly recommend. If you happen to be in the City of Angels, Cali or Sin City, Nevada….vist Sushi Roku. This place is close to it in my opinion.

We were visiting Boston and wouldn’t have known about this place if it weren’t for family who lived there. The ambiance was cozy and the service was great. The presentation of the food was STUNNING and the taste is worth booking another trip back to Boston. We definitely over ordered for four people– we got the chef omakase for two, kushiyaki combo, Tokyo roll, Omori Kaigan roll, Yokohama roll, and Ginza roll. We were stuffed sushi rolls by the end of the meal. The uni on the Tokyo roll were some of the sweetest uni we’ve ever had. The chef omakase for two is a sashimi lover’s dream. The kushiyaki had a wonderful sear and smokey flavor. 10/10 would absolutely come again.

Fresh sashimi & a wide variety of Jp. appetizers on a quiet street. Quality dishes in a laid-back environment with TVs on sports, which reflects its name as “a Japanese tavern.” A perfect place for date or friends chilling.
Highly recommend that roasted cheesy scallop appetizer (forgot the name but just ask about it). It’s pleasing to both the eyes and the mouths.

Sanitary issue is the most serious problem for any restaurants. In addition, restaurant’s response when such is found shows a lot about its professionalism and commitment to food safety. Today’s dinner was completely sabotaged by the two long strands of hair on the sushi rolls. Once informed to the restaurant, neither the manager nor the owner came by to explain the situation and just replaced the sushi. Worse, the restaurant did not take any remediate actions such as taking the sushi roll off of the menu or some kind of discount to show its sincerity.
Overall, it’s a great disappointment at the restaurant today. Future patrons are advised to be careful with food on the table before eating.

I came here to try the omakase! Omakase is the chef’s choice of selection where they plate quality and fresh sashimi and sushi nicely for the customer to enjoy. The omakase can feed 2 people at $60 which is an incredible deal! It comes with miso soup and a bowl of rice. I am a fan of Hotate Kaiyaki (a scallop, shellfish, cheesy and Mayo and etc) delicious goodness so I have to try it at different restaurants. Their green tea fried ice cream is delicious so it’s great for dessert. I also tried their fried soft shell crab, too. It’s a great location for spending time with friends or going on a date! I’d come back and have their omakase again.

It’s always a good time here at Omori Izakaya. The vibe is good especially if you want some sports on tv around you. Service was great either at the bar or at the tables. The $66 omakase fed 2 people nicely and it comes with rice, soup, and an appetizer from a choice of 4 items. We chose takoyaki. I also recommend grabbing some yakitori for also easy to fill up or as a beer snack. We got chicken gizzards, heart, and skin, but mushrooms were the best.
