All-you-can-order lunch, priced at $18, was an overall 4/5 experience at OMG Sushi. Our server was professional, kind, and attentive. The menu features a wide selection of appetizers, rolls, and entrées. While the fish was thinly sliced and of average quality, this was understandable given the value-oriented pricing. Standout items we would recommend include the miso soup, shrimp shumai, and eel avocado roll. Guests should note that the final lunch order is taken at 2:45 PM. During our visit, another party arrived at 2:30 PM but was charged dinner pricing because their group was incomplete and they were unable to place a full order before the lunch cutoff. Management appears to enforce this policy strictly. Overall, it was a good value and a place we would visit again.

Great value and flavor but I prefer the off times so not as busy. Pricing is excellent for the food and servings! For me can be over stimulating with the constant delivery or pickup orders and dings in background. The restaurant itself is nice and decorative but not overly done. Love the fresh ginger slices also not just out of the jar.

The place was very nice, well decorated and put together. We did wait 30 minutes to get our food the first time. Granted they did look busy and the second time was much faster. The food was good, and a lot of the different sushi rolls actually tested very similar. It was a good experience and will come back.

This has been our favorite restaurant for the last 2 years until the last couple of months. It has nothing to do with the food quality but instead the new waitress they have hired. She is the worst waitress I have ever experienced and she has served us the last 3 times we have gone. She constantly messes up orders, brings the wrong food, and forgets to bring food. She is also very slow to check on you. We went there last week and she brought us rice on accident, forgot to put in my child’s fries, brought the wrong sushi pieces, and didn’t bring soup I ordered. The people at the table beside us had the same issues. We have decided we will not return to this restaurant until she is not a server there anymore. If the owner is reading this, please respond with the days and hours she works because we would love to come and eat at your restaurant when we know this waitress will not serve us. Thanks.

Pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed this much more than expected. The unlimited sushi is an unbeatable value with a massive selection. The sushi was fresh and well made, the waitress was very attentive, polite and accomodating. The interior was clean and cutely decorated, lighting was comfortable and temperture was comfortable. There was a good ammount of parking available. My only negative, probably beyond the control of the restaraurant was a fly that kept harrassing me.

Totally average quality of sushi. No real complaints. Not authentic, but I wasn’t expecting that anyway. Very American-ized rolls: loaded with sugar, sauce, crunch, spice, you name it. But Spicy Girl was our favorite roll- you wouldn’t think the lemon would be so good on sushi, but it was!
Thought it was a little funny to see where they cut the chicken satay to make sure it was cooked- the chicken was very tasty, just seemed kinda amateur.
Unimpressed with the cheap servings/dressing of their sashimi. Every “piece” of sashimi is an actual piece of fish (that would fit atop a piece sushi) cut into 2 or 4 pieces. So, really you’re getting 1 piece of fish, but they make it look like 4.
Also pretty distasteful to plate a “tuna tartare” where 80% of the dish is cucumbers, with 3 thin slices of tuna on top.
Finally, server seemed overworked; And acted like she absolutely hated her job, which is concerning and sad. Entirely Chinese staff last time we were there, too (no Japanese staff in a Japanese restaurant??).
We probably won’t be coming back. Seeing all the cut corners/cheaping out just made it feel not quite worth it.

Best sushi in Newport News. Best sushi in Virginia. I would drive 3 hours just to eat here. All you can eat for roughly $21. Plenty of variety on the AYCE menu for people who don’t like sushi too. You MUST come here if you want sushi!!!!

The atmosphere was nice. The food we ordered was good. Except the soup. I wasn’t a fan of it at all. Someone else may love it, it just wasn’t for me. My daughter ordered the Hibachi chicken I ended up eating some of hers after the delicious California roll I had.

All-you-can-eat sushi at a reasonable price. Paid about $25/person before tip and taxes, but thats not the important part.
The servers were friendly, and great conversationalists. One of them talked with my roommate and I about music after they were jamming out and getting into the groove. The other was a bit on the quieter side but was quick to respond to empty drinks/plates. There were even a few jokes here and there when the servers had a few moments.
As for the food: the fried calimari was phenomenal! Ive had a lot of calimaro, but that was the first time Ive had an order that came out exactly right. The breading was even seasoned, which you almost never see. The sushi was pretty standard fare for the most part, but the quality for the price is pretty hard to beat!
If you’re passing through Newport News I’d highly recommend going for the All-you-can-eat menu here. There’s also an Al carte option available for those wanting something on the go.

Amazing for the price. $25 per peson makes me worry they are losing money on the all-you-can-eat menu. Sushi is good (not the best, but worthwhile), hibachi is awesome, sashimi is amazing, soups are awesome. Nothing tastes sub-par. Pro tip, order Tuna Tartare and then order extra tuna sashimi and mix it all together.
