Upbeat eatery for elevated BBQ with a global twist, plus local craft brews & a patio with fire pits.

This place is a bit pricey, but the food and service were both good. The BBQ is not the traditional overly sweet BBQ that I have been used to at BBQ places, which I really liked. They bring out pork rinds for you to try their sauces on before you order. We ordered a bowl of fries for the table. Again, they are different from other restaurants as the fries are a bit soft, but again it tastes good. I ordered their burrito bowl. Overall I enjoyed it, but for $5 extra for brisket, I expected a bit more meat then it came out with. Some variety to texture would have been nice too. My son ordered the judges plate which he enjoyed and my husband ordered the sampler which was also good. My biggest complaint is that for the amount your charged they skimp on the meat using the fries and sides to make up for it, at a restaurant that’s all about the meat and charges you for it, I would just expect more of it in their dishes. Also, we were not offered refills on our drinks until we were basically done eating, so yes, technically the lemonade is “bottomless,” but if the server never comes around to check on your drinks it might as well be a single serving. Again, none of these are big complaints, but for the prices (it was a little over $200 for 4 adults and 2 kids none of us drinking alcohol), I have higher expectations.

Love the Smokey flavor for the meat, we got the OMC plates with beef brisket, ribs and chicken. All good flavors. The Korean pork belly was way too spicy. The chicken sandwich was perfect. We also got the chicken wings and that was good, it was fun to try all the different BBQ sauces!

The Smoked OMC Plate, catfish, coleslaw, jalapeño grits, mac and cheese and drinks were all delicious! Possibly the best ribs we’ve ever had. Kileigh was a friendly, wonderful, attentive server. Will definitely return!

OMC Smokehouse was highly recommended to us by a friend while we were in Duluth for a weekend get away & it did not disappoint. Very busy atmosphere (we had to sit at the bar & as non-drinkers it was a bit inconvenient but fun to watch the bartender making beautiful drinks), it’s small space, but service was wonderful & the food was the best Smokehouse food my husband & I have evet had. We will definitely be back during future trips. Also, their outdoor patio looks so peaceful, it was to cold for us to sit outside, but I bet it’s a great atmosphere in the summer & fall months. Highly recommend brisket burger & the candied sweet potatoes were soooo soooo yummy (I hate sweet potatoes).

Pulled pork was solid. Brisket bark looked great but was way too salty. The horchata (which costs $8) comes in a rocks glass filled with ice, probably yielding less than 5oz of actual liquid. What a ripoff!
Beans were pretty good. Coleslaw was terrible – watery and lacked any acidity.
Vegan sloppy Joe was pretty alright, not bad but not great. Good option for vegetarians.

Lunch was plentiful! Each dish was bursting with flavor.
My favorite was the brisket sandwich and brisket bombs!
Corn was excellent!
The Nashville was okay.

Food was excellent! Great taste, flavors we’ve never had before, nice portion sizes. One of the owners, Louie, stopped by our table and we enjoyed hearing a little about his story. He was humble and kind. We received wonderful service and felt well cared for. We would definitely recommend OMC Smokehouse to friends and family and will definitely be back when we are in the area.

This is the place I keep coming back to whenever I visit Duluth. The BEST brisket in Minnesota, it’s so good and tender that it melts in your mouth. The St. Louis style ribs are also the best here. If it’s your first time here, I’d recommend the Smoked OMC Plate, you’d get a bit of each of their best dishes (ribs, brisket, and smoked chicken). Personally, I prefer the ribs and the brisket, so we just get a full order of those. The sides are delicious. The mac and cheese is a must. The candied sweet potato bake was great as well, but it was too sweet to have along with the other dishes – I had it as more of a desert dish. The potato salad was also really good and I recommend, and nothing can go wrong with the corn. Highly recommend OMC Smokehouse!

Just had the BEST Q outside of Texas! Beginning with the complimentary fried rinds and an explanation of the various sauces, every item was prepared with perfection! Our server, Sarah was exemplary! Husband had brisket and ribs. Tender and flavorful. I had the burrito bowl and I highly recommend it! Sides were tasty blends of complimentary seasoning as well.

My sister and I went to lunch at OMC smokehouse on Friday, September 19, 2025. We were in the area and wanted to get a nice lunch. I read the reviews online and thought this would be a great place.
The ambience of the place was great. Our host that seated us was very nice. Our server Sarah was absolutely wonderful. But the food was not so great.
I ordered the appetizers – pork belly lettuce wraps and the beef fat fries. My sister ordered the burrito bowl and the barbecue wings appetizer.
While the pork belly had a great flavor, it was the consistency of leather. Very dry and chewy. I did not finish eating the appetizer. I did mention this to our server Sarah.
The beef, fat fries, while having wonderful flavor, were very limp and soggy.
The burrito bowl, while having great flavor, the rice was nothing but mush.
Again, the barbecue wings had great flavor, but were a little dry.
We only ordered water for our beverages.
We did bring home the extra wings and the extra beef fat fries (hoping we could crisp up the fries in an air fryer, but that didn’t work out so well).
I guess I expected a bit more for a $80 lunch (not including tip).
