We booked reservations here for Valentine’s Day but were honestly underwhelmed. The shrimp appetizer was disappointing—it tasted overly fishy and lacked flavor. While the steak was quite good, the lobster fell short of expectations. The crème brûlée was a nice highlight, but overall, the experience felt overrated. Given the choice, I’d much rather head to Hutch’s or Left Bank for a more consistent meal.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at Oliver’s Restaurant tonight, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. We were truly spoiled and treated so wonderfully all evening — five stars all around.
The service was impeccable, especially from Devin, who explained every dish so thoughtfully and made the entire experience feel special and effortless. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. We started with raw oysters, lobster bisque, and a roasted beef salad — each one was outstanding. For our entrées, we enjoyed the pan-seared scallops and the filet mignon, both cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Dessert was the perfect ending: crème brûlée and their made-in-house rice ice cream, which was incredible.
From the food to the service to the overall vibe, everything was amazing. We felt genuinely welcomed and celebrated, and we will absolutely be back. Oliver’s made our anniversary night unforgettable.

Let me start off by saying, there is a reason Oliver’s is consistently voted the number one restaurant in Buffalo. First of all, the valet parking is wonderful. Nothing like getting out of my car with stiletto boots and being able to walk in nice and easy in this blustery Buffalo weather. Upon entering the restaurant is beautiful, cozy and low lit. Important for a nice atmosphere. We started with a drink in the lounge. I love the house made candied spicy nuts. So delicious with our cocktails! Our server, Devin, was simply amazing. He was informative, helpful and friendly, with the perfect amount of attentiveness. We were then seated at our table. After ordering, Devin brought us an amouse bouche. Love that touch. It was salmon on a rice crisp. Delicious! I ordered the halibut, it was yummy but my first critique was slightly over seasoned and slightly overcooked. But very good overall, I loved the snow pea pods as an accompaniment. My hub ordered the filet mignon it was well cooked and seasoned nicely. For dessert Devin brought us truffles and a raspberry chocolate chew. Again this is a very tasty end to our dinner. If I had to critique one thing. I am a mixologist and I love a well balanced unique cocktail. I must say Waxlight is going to triumph over Oliver’s in the cocktail department for one reason. The alcohol taste in our cocktails (aside from the Manhattan) was virtually undetectable. For $17 per I left very sober. Needs to be more alcohol in the drinks. But they were unique and absolutely fabulous. The mixologist who is creating these drinks needs a shout out. Thank you Oliver’s For a memorable evening and fabulous hospitality!

Oliver’s Restaurant was the perfect spot to celebrate graduating nursing school. We went for mid-dinner and cocktails, and everything was excellent. Our server was absolutely amazing, attentive, kind, and made the celebration feel special. The food was great and the cocktails were beautifully crafted. Such a memorable experience and a wonderful way to celebrate a big milestone.

Quiet atmosphere with a skilled bartender making wonderfully thought out cocktails. Fresh and modern twist to perfectly crafted entrees. Service is one of the top in the area with knowledgeable, professional and attentive staff. We had the pleasure of being serviced by Joe who was a delight. Finished the evening with a double espresso with in-house made dessert. Finally, a restaurant that is creating some sweet meal endings on their own. Cannot wait to return.

Above all service was phenomenal! Our server was very kind and understanding of our needs. Great service with a smile really does go a long way.

Food was also good. The portions were surprisingly big which made it all the better. Definitely will come back!

The Thanksgiving day meal was incredible. Probably the best Thanksgiving day meal that I’ve ever had. From the turkey to the mashed potatoes. We also had the spinach bread and pork belly for appetizers, both were absolutely wonderful. The service was very good. The atmosphere was wonderful as well.

Wonderful experience from valet parking to coat check and amazing food and service. They pay attention to every detail and my daughter birthday celebration was wonderful. Her boyfriend commented that the ribeye was the best steak he ever had. Decadence of Egg was splendid. So was the fish special and deserts. Wonderful wine list, perfectly recommended sauvignon blanc. Tokaji 5 puttonyos after dinner.

Having moved here recently from NYC where I spent considerable time working in varying levels of hospitality from fine dining to bagel shops, Oliver’s sticks out to me as a quintessential star in the Buffalo food scene.

On a ten grade scale I would give the food a 9/10 and the service a 13. Kim (and Charlie) specifically made my experience wonderful. After oysters, the steak tartare, scallops, and lemon cheesecake I was besotted, in a good way.

The true foodie passion shown in each dish, the ease and comfort in each conversation, and the level of care taken down to the detail (including specifically packaging my left over dishes based on small portions of our side conversation) all equates to a definite Must Go.

Apologies my pictures are vaguely lacking, half of them I couldn’t stop myself from immediately tucking in, and the other half were taken in haste so that I could get right to them asap.

Oliver’s is arguably the best fine dining restaurant in Buffalo. From the moment you walk in, the service is attentive, polished, and genuinely welcoming. The food was outstanding…..beautifully presented, thoughtfully prepared, and full of flavor. Every course felt intentional and expertly executed.
We started with three appetizers: elk loin tartar, duck dumplings, and crudo. Each one was better than the last. The tartar was perfectly seasoned, the dumplings were flavorful, and the crudo was incredibly fresh. Our entrees were excellent as well, but the true stars of the evening were the appetizers.
The wine list is equally impressive, offering an incredible selection that complements the menu perfectly. Oliver’s delivers at every level.
