Hate to leave a local small business a less than stellar review; but it is what it is, do better. I had a carry out order hence the paper plate at home in the picture. Fried chicken; delicious, by itself could’ve been 5 stars. Mashed potatoes were terrible; instant, runny, bland with a hint of garlic that just made them taste weird. Some sort of canned or instant white gravy; that’s fine I can add enough salt and pepper to make it serve the purpose. The corn; bad, bad, bad. It was brownish and tasted “off”. Was not worth the risk of eating, the corn went in the trash. The chicken and potatoes; could have averaged out to 3 stars. But that corn should not have been served outside of a hog farm; additional star deducted.

My hisband and I stopped by on our way on a trip up to Chicago. 10/10 stars for everything!!!
The atmosphere was cozy but modern and rustic at the same time. Also, I loved the Halloween decorations they had! Subtle nod to the season without detracting from the natural vibe of the restaurant.
The staff were amazing and very attentive, they made sure we were taken care of and always made sure our drinks were full. And the food! So amazing!! I had the smothered wrap and I’ve never had something covered with so much cheese before it was amazing!! The garlic mashed potatoes I had were so rich and I could taste the garlic so clearly! Best garlic mashed potatoes I’ve had. My husband had the Southwest Burger and Sweet carrots, and he said the burger was an interesting flavor combo and was mildly spicy, which is good because he loves spicy things.
Overall amazing in all areas!! If your looking for a modern but cozy restaurant with good food and great staff, this is for you.

We stayed at an airbnb nearby and had a few suggestions to dine.
We chose to come here.
The waitress made suggestions for the special, the brown sugar bourbon pork chop, baked potatoes, with a salad bar option. Yes!!! Was my answer! Sold!
The salad bar was clean, and the lettuce was cut for bite size.
It’s not a huge salad bar but very good.
Now, to this pork chop.
I was pleasantly surprised with the 2 chops on our plates. As thick as these chops are, they were cooked perfectly, that delicious sear crust was so……. good!
Seriously, who can eat all of that!?? I love leftovers so……. Win! Win!
There was only 1 waitress when we got there, and I appreciated the heads up from the host.
I asked the waitress how many cooks there was in the back cooking this delicious meal. She said 1. 1? Wow, there were about 6 tables, and I didn’t think there was much time waiting for our meals with 1 cook.
I only asked because I wanted to give the cooks a tip as well.
Kudos for these gals running the show.

Our server Chris was terrific! The presentation of the food was good. I ordered fried catfish, steamed broccoli, and macaroni and cheese. Everything tasted delicious I just wish the cheese sauce (or roux) was a little thicker.

This place has great food, service and the best fried chicken this side of the Mississippi! All of their items are great and their salad bar is fresh and has alot of choices.

Absolutely delicious, fresh food. Great service. Delightful atmosphere. Very generous portions and reasonable pricing across the whole menu. If you are going across the street, turn around and come here instead. You’ll be glad you did!!

Soup wasn’t very cold but tasty. The special was a hot sandwich and the cheese wasn’t melted and meat skimpy. They couldn’t break $100 bill at check out. Waitress was very nice and so was the atmosphere

We tried Oliver’s for the first time on Friday. The atmosphere was nice and service was great. We had one meal under cooked and they jumped in and took care of it right away. Food was very good and I would try the catfish!! We will be back.
