The bouncer Donnie definitely has a stick up his butt. Did not let me in and provided no verbal explanation AND followed me to goodys across the street to tell the bouncer there to not let me in either. Not cool.

In a military town, you’d think the that this bar would support the military. This bar does not let any active duty or veterans in. They say you need a California ID to get in, but they are doing this so no marines can go in. How could a business in a military town get away with this? 100% do not go here. There are several bars in the area that are way better. You guys suck!

Refused CAC with a valid out of state ID. Asked for California license and would only accept such for entry.

This is by far my favorite local watering hole. This is a classic dive bar but without the clicky atmosphere that sometimes goes along with those places. There are 2 decent pool tables which are free until 8 each day. Really a welcoming and fun place, right on El Camino Real in the triangle next to several great restaurants. I’d recommend it to locals and out of towners.

Ole’s Tavern in 2 words: day drink, booze cruise, Bloody Mary. Their day drinking specials are awesome. $3 drafts, $5 Kettle, $6 bloodys with a beer back. And the bloody is stacked with all the accoutrements.
I’m crawling out of this place next time.

Anti Veteran/American establishment. In 2010 I just got home from a very intense combat deployment in Afghanistan. I was alone, my wife and family on the east coast and rode my bike from base into town to get a beer, mind you this is the day I came home from war. I was denied because I did not have a California ID, they did not accept my Military Identification Card. Recent reviews indicate the same thing is happening as of this year. What a shame, a truly dishonorable establishment. I was denied a beer because I had a military ID. Their excuse as “only California IDs” is because they are a rich town next to a military base.

Great bar. Been there for years, but please get rid of that older jaded woman w the tats . She is extremely rude and unhappy and she’s proud of being rude. clearly cares not if she’s fired w her behavior and bad attitude.

I couldn’t believe my eyes!!
I’m a 53 year old woman so I walked in with no problem. I was meeting my son (recently stationed Marine Officer at Pendleton) and I took a seat at the bar near the door. “Security” gave him an incredibly hard time because he didn’t have a California ID. That’s right, he had his home state ID and a military ID proving his age (23). I personally asked the bartender and the bouncer for clarification and they said “that’s the way it is.” That’s a crazy shame. Go anywhere but here…I know my family will.
