Packer fans unite! Really cool bar, whether you’re a Packer fan or not. Warm and friendly. Good history.
The bartender, Liv, is THE BEST. Come to see her if nothing else. So fun!
Also, Jim, the owner is the nicest guy. Owned it for 35 years.
Will be back when I am back in town.

My husband and I were in Chicago for a trip and needed a place to watch the Packers. This was perfect! The staff was great, especially Liv!

I had cranberry and vodka and he had an anti- hero draft beer. We got service right away. The vibe was very relaxing and fun. They do have food. the people next to us ordered a burger and fries and it looked good. I definitely want to come back and try their food. They have outdoor seating and a bunch of tables inside.

I work around the corner from O’Leary’s. We come over after work quite a bit so I can give it three stars in some categories but I was surprised when we tried to stop by today when the Bears were playing Green Bay and a man at the front door slammed it shut when we tried to walk in saying they were “at capacity”. Like, he was sitting on a stool in front of the door and physically grabbed the handle and pulled it violently shut from the other side. What he actually meant was they weren’t at capacity but someone in our party was wearing a Bears shirt…that’s when we noticed they had signs all over the front with windows that read “Green Bay fans only others need not apply”. He locked the door (which feels like it’s against fire code after that) and ignored us even as we tried to say “Go Pack”. It’s weird to have a place in Chicago, named after one of Chicago’s iconic events that don’t want Chicagoans to come. Maybe you’re trying to create a safe place for Wisconsin fans, but this is a friendly rivalry and some of the best games I’ve watched are with our northern neighbors. Someone in our party said “they don’t want our money”. We went to a place a block away and sure enough, when we walked back past O’Leary’s to our car after the game, the signs were down, so only then were Chicagoans welcome again. So…if you love Chicago and you want to patronize places that love Chicago, this isn’t the place. They want our money. They’ll take our money. But maybe they don’t deserve our money.

I was in Chicago for 2 days and this is the by far the best bar in Chicago. The owner is a Washington Commanders fan and he makes sure the Commanders win if you come here. The bartender is awesome because she sings Ke$ha and Burger King commercials during the commercial breaks to keep the vibe going. They let some Eagles fans inside, but that’s OK.

Not welcome / no admittance if you are not a Packers fan. I guess my money is no good here. I was not wearing green or any football fan attire, and was told “we’re full”, inside it appeared nowhere near “full”. I’ve already been denied, and the guy at the door really wants to drive the message home, and then asked if we are Packers fans. Thinking to myself how Lambeau Field is 200 + miles away, i reply “no” in so many words. He points down the street and says yeah, down there. We gladly checked out Fado Irish Pub up the road (not the direction suggested to us by the door man), and were granted entry, as one would expect when a business is open.

Edit: Jimbo puts out dog biscuits every day and water. Dogs may sit on the patio (if they behave). He did tell me my cat Elwood is not invited.
Felix outdid himself, yet again! Today’s special fresh from the Farmers’ market: stuffed banana peppers. Everything here is so fresh… and great service.
For Lent, Felix made a seafood special every Friday. This one is homemade ravioli stuffed with cheese and herbs in a lobster sauce.

As Steelers fans, we’re always down to enjoy a game with anyone playing the Bengals, Browns, or Ravens. We enjoyed a win against the browns at Hopsmith and made the decision to check out O’leary’s for the Packers/Bengals game. However, after walking the distance, we discovered that O’leary’s is a bit discriminatory against non-Packer fans. Initially, we were turned away by a guy at the front stating it’s a “private party” however, when asked again he stated “this bar is just for packers fans”… last I checked, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. No wonder packers fans have a rough reputation around town.

We spent an evening here (travelled to Chicago from Cornwall, England) and had a fabulous time. Bartenders Kirsten and Chelsea were amazing–friendly and fun–and Gus at the door was kind enough to pass a message to a guy my friends had been admiring from afar!! He was married (sad times) but bought us a drink and stopped by to chat a bit…as did quite a few in the venue that night. As my friends and I had originally met in our own local pub back home, it was great to find an equally welcoming place in Chicago!
Any negative reviewers must be antisocial and not familiar with the English/Irish practice of actually talking to people in pubs!! Definitely a 10/10 night out.
We spent quite a bit there as we just couldn’t leave! Prices were probably average, but less than we’d anticipated.
