My wife Mary and I were joined last evening by good friends Bill and Lauren for dinner at Old Mill Tavern. We dine out together often and really enjoy discovering restaurants we haven’t tried before. Having lived in the area for three years (30 minutes away), I’ve also been on a personal quest to find the best prime rib around.
First, a complement to our waiter, Bob. He was a joy, friendly, approachable, and great to joke around with. His service truly added to the experience. The atmosphere overall was warm and comfortable, exactly what you hope for on a relaxed night out with friends.
Now, about that prime rib. I was looking for a larger cut than what was listed on the menu, and the kitchen was more than happy to accommodate my request. I ordered a 24 oz prime rib, and to say my 3 year search for outstanding prime rib and service may be over would be an understatement.
For starters, Lauren and I had the French onion soup, Mary ordered the fish chowder, and Bill had a Caesar salad. We all agreed these were solid B+ starters, well prepared and enjoyable.
For entrées, Lauren had the steak tips, Mary chose the baked stuffed haddock, Bill ordered the 12 oz prime rib, and I had my long awaited 24 oz cut. Every meal was very well received, and there were no disappointments at the table.
More importantly, we truly enjoyed the entire evening, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. Old Mill Tavern is a place we will absolutely return to, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

This place is super cute. Went after skiing and the four of us were hangry. Prices at Pleasant Mtn for food were ridiculous and we needed someplace close and good. Food was GREAT, came out in under 15 minutes. Our server that evening was Don (I’m pretty sure) and he was awesome. AWESOME!! I have zero complaints and usually I can complain.

We went around 1ish and it wasn’t busy but it wasn’t completely empty. The food was fresh and tasty. It’s for sure a hidden gem! The places like it would a great local hotspot!

Would have been five stars, but they insisted I order my main course along with my appetizers and drink before she could place the order. I like to taste my appetizers and have a drink before I decide what I’m having has a main course. If the appetizer is really good I may just have another as my main course.

Great food, all 4 dinners and sides were very flavorful and cooked as requested. My friend said blackened salmon was best he ever had. Nice location in village of Harrison.

Our bartender and server C J was great! We live in Raymond and were looking for a different place to go.
Well worth the drive. Not busy at 2:00 on a Tuesday, but very welcoming. Chicken wrap was awesome!

My party of 9 had dinner last night here. The atmosphere and food were excellent. It helped to have made a reservation because I saw people having to wait. My only complaint, which really irks me, is the tricky extra fees restaurants slap onto the bill. When taking our orders the server says, “Would you like a baked potato, mashed potato, fries, sweet potato fries or onion rings?” As if they are all included equally as part of the meal options. We are a family who loves sweet potato fries and ended up with nearly everyone being charged $3 extra on each meal because of it. That was a bit cunning and left a bad taste in my mouth on the way out.

Came up for a bachelor party and we were looking for some good food and drinks and stumbled across this place.
Had a group of 7 and they found us a spot despite the place being packed. The cheese curds were to die for. Everyone in the group loved their food and drinks. If you’re in the area definitely check this place out!
Also a BIG shoutout to our waitress, Doreen. She absolutely crushed it while also waiting on numerous other tables, we truly appreciated it!

Stopped in for a later Sunday dinner and had great and friendly service by Jill. Good beer selection, the gobbler sandwich did not disappoint, and the pub side had great ambiance. Will go back!

A friend of mine and I went to the Olde Mill Tavern on Harrison on 5/19/25 for an early dinner. I have to share it was AMAZING! I had the NY Strip Steak dinner. It might be the best piece of steak I’ve had in my life, and it was cooked to perfection! Hot, tender and juicy, WOW! My friend had the Baked Haddock dinner and it was excellent as well. The waitress was fantastic service was quick and food was hot. Really great experience and great food. As far as price, honestly the dinners were pretty expensive $29 and $27 but, I minded that less after tasting the steak! I would definitely recommend going there.
