This spot came recommended but I’ll admit I didn’t have super high hopes coming in. Turns out the food is delicious and the vibe is right. I would come here over the Burren in Davis everyday, so if you’re reading this review deciding where to go, I vote Olde Magoun’s Saloon. I thought the menu was more interesting, the food definitely better, and the prices lower. We got the currywurst and a Reuben and both were tasty. The Reuben came with an interesting Cajun pasta salad.

I look forward to returning!

Stopped in here to watch the Fulham game with the local supporters group. Loved the atmosphere inside and the service was quick and friendly. I also really enjoyed their wings – a good size and very crispy. There is a paid parking lot behind the CVS to park in so you don’t have to circle around searching for street parking.

Great bar and maybe the best chicken wings I’ve ever had.

Had a great first visit to Olde Magoun’s Saloon! We ordered the Reuben, which was thick and flavorful, really tasty overall though the meat could’ve been a bit more tender. We also tried the lemon chicken dish, which was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

Great, food, service and atmosphere. There was 7 of us for a family lunch and everyone ordered and enjoyed various burgers, sandwiches and “handhelds.” The wait staff was very accommodating, knew the menu, the beers and how to satisfy a group of people who ranged in age from 27 to 90.

I love Olde Magoun’s, especially their seasonal Oktoberfest menu. Solid pub food and fantastic beer selection, including some cask ales. I really wish they had a better porter/stout draught selection. A thoughtfully crafted selection of rarely encountered IPAs and lagers, but only Guinness on draught. Really??

My favorite bar in the Boston area. The Linda’s nachos are soooo good! So are the wings. Truly can’t go wrong w anything on the menu. We come back every week! The main bartender Owen is incredible!

Excellent beer selection, and the food is shockingly good as well. I have not had a bad meal here. Great place to watch a big sporting event, or just go for a nice meal.

This place has a fantastic lineup of brews, and is the only place I’ve ever seen a cask beer. On top of that I probably had the best Reuben sandwich I’ve ever had here.

1. Brunch CORNED BEEF HASH (14) from @oldemagounssaloon. “Fried Eggs, Rustic Style Corned Beef Hash, Country Toast”. It was rustic, all right! Big chunks of their excellent house-made brisket corned beef. The crispy peppers surprised me a bit, but they added a nice texture. The eggs were cooked as ordered, but no browning was present. The potatoes still had the slimy skin on, and a few was so mushy they weren’t edible. The bread was excellent. Overall, a delightful meal after the potatoes were peeled. Excellent Reuben available as well.

2. HAUS WURST PLATE (19) from @oldemagounssaloon. “Hofbrau Bier steamed Schaller and Weber Bratwurst & Knockwurst, sauerkraut & tart apple, warm German potato salad, mustard, currywurst”. They insisted that it was called currywurst, but that is a type of sausage. Curry Gewurz is the correct name. Anyway, this wasn’t on the menu when I got there today. It had been 86ed over the summer. In the end, the kitchen agreed to make it for me, and boy was I lucky. This was absolutely delicious! The sauerkraut with apples was a delight, and so were the sausages. The warm potato salad was excellent and had plenty of onion and bacon. The potatoes had the skin left on, but I didn’t really mind for once, since it was like the skin on new potatoes. The curry ketchup was also delicious. I once bought a bottle from Karl Kitchen, which was just meh. I was only charged $16 since it wasn’t in the system anymore. Somebody got a big tip!

3. CAST IRON MAC-N-CHEESE (12) at @oldemagounssaloon. With the add-on buffalo chicken it’s ($17). “Cooked to order and served in a cast iron skillet”. This looks like a small serving, but it wasn’t. The creamy pasta was cooked perfectly, and the tender buffalo chicken was crispy, even after being sauced. Another excellent dish.
