We ordered a bunch of different things across the table and overall the food was really good. The standouts for me were the goat cheese and jalapeño bites and the hot wings. The goat cheese bites had a great crispy outside with a creamy center and just the right amount of heat from the jalapeños. The wings were excellent too—great flavor and cooked just right.
Everything else was solid tavern food—steak and eggs, omelets, French toast, and potatoes all came out looking great and tasted good.
One of the biggest bonuses was the customer service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and kept everything moving without hovering over the table. That really made the whole experience better.
Definitely a place I’d come back to.

This is an absolute hidden gem, with amazing food and great service. I had a Battlefield burger, and it was really juicy and tasty. I loved the texture of the cheese. Our waiter was really nice, and he seemed very familiar with the restaurant and he asked how we wanted things, and apologized when he made a mistake. The restrooms weren’t that good, they had minimal stalls and they were small. It was also loud as we walked into the restaurant since the bar is near the entrance, but once we were seated farther from the bar it was nice. The restaurant has an amazing vibe with cute decorations. Overall, a very nice restaurant!

I had mixed feelings about my visit here.
The ambiance is actually very nice. It has that classic old tavern feel warm, cozy, casual dining, and not overly crowded. I especially liked the sofa-style seating, which made it comfortable to sit and relax. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated.
Now for the food.
I ordered the NY strip steak cooked medium, but it came out closer to medium well. That was disappointing right away. On top of that, the steak lacked seasoning and overall flavor. For something that should have been the star of the plate, it ended up being pretty underwhelming.
The eggs and potatoes, however, were perfect. Cooked well and flavorful. I also ordered a side of pancakes, and those were actually great fluffy and satisfying.
Overall, I was really looking forward to the steak being the highlight, but it didn’t deliver. Nice atmosphere, kind staff, solid sides, but the main dish missed the mark for me. 3 stars.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was outstanding. Will definitely be going back. There are several menu items i want to try. The venison meatballs were spectacular. The duck hash was pretty good too.

Olde Dominion Tavern was an excellent experience from start to finish. The service was amazing, friendly, attentive, and impressively fast without ever feeling rushed. The food was outstanding, fresh, and full of flavor, and everything came out exactly as ordered. What really stood out was that the manager personally stopped by our table to check on us, which made the experience feel even more welcoming. You can tell they truly care about their guests. We’ll definitely be back. highly recommend!

For Friday Date Night we ventured back to the former LIon & Bull. Our first time back as we no longer live in the area, and it is now named Olde Dominion Tavern. I believe several other revamps have occurred since orginal L&B closed 2016-17 in Dominion Valley Center Haymarket. Completely renovated with no visible set up for musical entertainment inside, but has opportunities on patio/courtyard. Our Server indicated performances occur Spring/Summer. Drinks were fine, food less so, granted Bars in general could always improve their food. Crab Dip was composed primarily of cheese with trace crab so could use more crab if calling it a “Crab Dip”. The homemade Chips were Awesome. The Burger was a Burger and prepared well. The Venison Chili was super soupy with little beans and less venison. Definitely could be “beefed up” for an improved hearty offering. To be fair, we didn’t expand our selection of food to the main entrée offerings, but getting an appetizer and simple bowl of chili right sueded us otherwise. Our Server was wonderful as it was a very quiet Friday night. We were patrons of L&B practically every Fri or Sat night, sometimes standing room only, for truly good Bar food, drinks, fun and the BEST live music in NOVA. While Olde Dominion Tavern is very nice inside and probably satisfies the Dominion Valley residents adequately, the memorable magic of L&B no longer resides there.

If you visit the Haymarket area, I highly recommend going to the Olde Dominion Tavern It has a warm and welcoming environment with very pleasant staff. I had a delightful meal with a delicious venison chilling and a steak and cheese sandwich. My french fries were hot and fresh. I enjoyed visiting friends and sharing a good meal. I highly recommend this tavern.

A group of thirteen ladies came to celebrate as several of us had close birthdays. We were seated in a back room that opened to the patio. It was so nice that we were able to have the space to ourselves. Our server, Matt, was so attentive and accommodating. He managed our large group with ease. The drinks and food came out in great timing and everything was delicious. My steak and brussels salad was really good! And I could tell from the cleared plates that all enjoyed their meals. The birthday girls were able to choose a birthday shot or dessert…what a special treat! The group was also able celebrate with a champagne toast courtesy of the restaurant. Thank you for a great night!

I have been here twice so far, once for dinner and once for brunch. Both times I enjoyed excellent food and service. For dinner, I went in with a large group. Everyone was very satisfied with their selections. Food came out fresh and delicious. I had the spicy avocado burger (juicy & tasty), a 1/2 dozen oysters (super fresh) and a perfectly made dirty martini. For brunch I had the shrimp and Gouda grits. It was exactly what I was craving. Shrimp was perfectly cooked and grits were creamy and well seasoned. I asked for the gravy on the side just in case it was too salty. However I could have eaten it by the spoonful. So good!
The service was also fantastic. All of the staff was great (I think the servers were Jenna and Emma). We interacted with Millie both times and she was awesome! She made us feel welcomed and ensured we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. I will definitely be back to try some of the other dishes but would go back for just to have the oysters and shrimp/grits again.

Absolutely LOVE this restaurant!! The food options were classics with super fun twists, the drinks were fabulous as well. I chose the white wine mussels (they have a very delicious twist on the classic recipe) and a few of their seasonal cocktails. Not only did the food come out fast but it was made to perfection. My server, Gabbi, was so sweet and attentive. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their drink and dinner menu!!
