A unique Restaurant and shop in the heart of downtown Corning which resembles a victorian era. A old fashion counter ice cream bar and a nice display of candy is centered around comfortable seating for dining pleasure. A nice assortment of Gift items are available for browsing as well as purchasing while waiting for food order. Order is placed at the front service counter and will be brought to table when its ready. Menu items feature home made soups panni sandwiches deserts as well as other choices. My choice of lunch entree was the grilled cheese panni along with the home made bowl of chicken soup. The grilled cheese sandwich was huge with a nice amount of gooey cheese. The soup was served nice and hot with plenty of noodles. Comfort food at its best. A nice welcoming shop with a warm and comforting vibe.

If you want to treat yourself to delicious ice cream in a vintage ice cream parlor, then Old World Cafe in Corning is the place to visit. We stopped here for an ice cream break during a recent summer day. The authentic atmosphere here is like stepping back in time. They offer an ample selection of ice cream flavors, along with a food menu featuring a variety of salads and specialty sandwiches as well. A kids menu is available. Our server, Abby(?), was very friendly and engaging, and we really enjoyed our visit here. The caramel-truffle and chocolate-raspberry flavors were both delicious. Two generous scoops of Hershey ice cream will set you back around $6 plus tax. Delicious ice cream at a reasonable price served in a historic old Victorian ice cream parlor. That’s about as perfect as it gets. Highly recommended. Thanks for reading!

Ordered the chicken & avocado sandwich on sour dough bread, greek gyro in a wrap, harvest blue salad and the Tost.
Place order at counter and pick up yourself. Tables inside and outdoors in a public area on side of restaurant. Also serves ice cream which we came back for later.
Sandwiches were plentiful and all had great fresh flavors to them. Chips and pickles on side. Salad was huge and very tasty.
Hershey ice cream flavors. Coconut had real flakes in it, the peach supreme had can peaches and could have used a bit more caramel on it.

Prices are a bit high. Paid 20 dollars for a hot sandwich and water. A wonderful place for lunch though. They close a bit early, so check the hours. Their sandwiches are great. I recommend splitting with someone. Love the atmosphere. Very quick service.

Old style soda shop feel gives this place charm. We ate lunch outside and had pot roast potato leek soup, turkey avocado sandwich, and the veggie layer wrap. All of the food was fresh and delicious! We stopped back for ice cream after shopping. My friend had the Almond Joy sundae and I had salty caramel truffle with hot fudge. Both were delicious.

Love this place! The aesthetic of the place, the menu, the music, the candies for sale, it all feels right out of the past. There are two counters: you can order ice cream from the first counter near the main entrance, and sandwiches and salads and baked goods from the cafe counter in the back. The ice cream is mostly Hershey’s but they currently have one housemade gelato and one sorbetto that rotates. The ice cream counter also has novelty candy and ice cream for sale, but if you go in back to the cafe counter, they have higher quality locally produced and imported candies along with other pantry stuff like jam and tea.
I’ve stopped here a few times. The sandwiches have been fantastic (globe sandwich and Moroccan wrap). The carrot cake was just okay, a little dry if I remember correctly, but the coconut custard pie I tried this time was perfect and not too sweet or heavy. They also do a good (and pretty big) malt milkshake. Service is fast enough and generally friendly.

Delicious, quick sandwiches, ice cream, and lots of other treats! They sell local goods, teas, coffee beans, and the like as well.
The interior is also very interesting to look at, and must hold a lot of history. Everything has a loving, personal touch.
I got “to go” and ate at one of the many tables outside. The outdoor ambiance is lively and lovely. I got takeout because I knew I’d never finish their generous portion sizes in one sitting!
I ordered the Turkey Tost, and it was very tasty.

I had the Mediterranean sandwich and it was so good and so filling I brought it home and stretched it out for 2 days, it was soooo good I didn’t want it to be gone!! Can’t wait to go back but you’re over 2 hrs away! the atmosphere was like an old fashioned ice cream parlor. Loved everything about it!!

I have been wanting to come here for a long time now and I finally got a chance. The food was delish and the staff were very friendly. We were a bit late getting there..probably 20-25 minutes before they closed and were able to sit down and eat. People were still wandering in to order at closing time so the only thing I would say is I wish they were open just a bit longer… Hopefully during the summer months they are open later. Either way, definitely worth checking out and grabbing a quick and delicious bite to eat!
