The burgers are prepattied and the fries get soggy before you can eat them. The main dishes are cafeteria style food at best. Veggies are canned or frozen.
The really aggravating thing about this establishment and the main reason I will avoid it in the future is the fact that they just take your money without even asking! There are fees on all card transactions so you want to pay cash. Then they just give you back whatever they want, deducting a significant gratuity. I always tip but it should be up to me what I give!
Even on a take out order, you wondering why your change was short compared to the prices on the menu, then you look at your receipt and realize they just took it!
I guess they think you won’t notice. This is a terrible business practice and I recommend avoiding this establishment on principle alone.
Not all customers are rich tourists. Some of us are trying to survive in this economy and work hard for our money. It won’t be long until these greedy restaurants won’t have any regular, local customers. They should be giving us a discount! Now overcharging us!
My wife and I run a hotel in the area and we are always looking for ways to give discounts to loyal customers not ripping them off! We won’t be recommending this restaurant to any of our guests in the future.
My wife had coffee and after drinking the first cup I placed her cup at the edge of the table and no one ever refilled while I counted 11 passes by our table by servers. I finally stopped one and asked for a refill they brought it but did not say a word even though I said thank you.
One note is people that came in way after we did received their food eat it and had left but they were seated at the bar which appeared to be locals and it appears they are served first
The saving grace here is that the food was good even though the portions were small.
We are here for a week but won’t return just due to the rude staff which is unfortunate.
Update -**** Bill said $39.42 but when they run my credit card it was for $40.60 why the $1.18 add????? If this is done on every bill that adds up through the day. Seems like a very shady business practice knowing people are not paying attention. Check your bill.
The place has great music and a fun, welcoming vibe — really captures that relaxed West Yellowstone energy. The staff were friendly, the portions generous, and it quickly became our favorite spot in town.
Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
Place was packed. Order elk medallion and fish & chips. Food was ok – no real wow factor.
First they got the salad wrong and it was hard to get the server.
Many people hanging out behind the wall at the kitchen instead of standing on the main floor. Many had their eyes down and not observing patrons. Was hard to get their attention.
Was expecting tough, chewy meat, maybe some bits of fat. Nope! The steak was cubed as well and it was seasoned just right. Wish I knew what they used because it was delicious. Fries were also good.
If we had more time in West Yellowstone, we would come back.
The atomosphere was good, but with the bad food and poor service, I would not go back to this place.
