We came in for lunch and were so excited to do a greek themed lunch with hummus as a app and the monthly special pizza ” Gyro ” . I got a lime and coconut fruit beer that was absolutely delicious and tart as we waited on the $10 hummus appetizers. It looked pretty impressive coming out but the bread was so hard it was crunchy and tough as leather to pull apart , the actual hummus was disappointing because of the lack of flavor , super bland. definitely not recommended .

Stopped on to Old Scratch pizza to try out the food. We tried a deluxe and a pepperoni & onion. The pizza came pretty fast. The crust was nice and chewy but my deluxe was a little moist in the middle. Just a little floppy. I would have liked a bit more sauce but I think that would have made the crust a little more soggy. Taste is good. Plenty of toppings. The pepperoni is a little spicy. The sausage has a good spice blend. Overall a good bite of pizza even with the crust. The store is really nice inside. Clean and comfortable. Everyone is polite and helpful. I think I would like to try it again with less toppings or maybe well done.

This was our first time visiting. You walk in and wait in line to place your order. You may have to wait a few minutes to place your order if seats are not available. We were luckily sat right away in the back near the kitchen and could see all the food being made. The kitchen looked tidy and organized. I ordered the Margherita and my husband ordered the Dayton (pepperoni). The pizza is very thin with a thicker outer crust. The flavors were very good and the pepperoni had a slight spice to it. Overall the pizzas were delicious. I also got a side house salad, it was nothing to rave about, and my husband got the meatballs which I feel were a little pricy for the size of them. We would return and are excited for the patio area to open this summer!

This was our first time at the Old Scratch Pizza and Beer restaurant. Ordering was a bit confusing at first because the menu is posted on a board behind the counter. After getting a printed menu we decided on a pizza and Mediterranean salad. We discovered that you order the food at one location and then go to another place to order our beer. We were very disappointed about the cleanliness of the tables. Ultimately we found one not too dirty and waited for the salad. It took a while. Then our pizza arrived..it was tasty and they only make one size…so we had a slice left over. We watched the areas around us and played etc were left there along with nobody cleaning up and washing the tables. It’s a bit pricey for what you get. I doubt that we’ll be there again.

The pizza is absolutely phenomenal, and all three appetizers we had were excellent (the meatball app really exceeded expectations). The beer selection was very good, and the cocktails were excellent. Our bartender was awesome ‐ friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely a spot we’ll be back to!

So impressed with their gluten free crust! Other places that offer gluten free pizzas usually only have hard/crispy/cracker-like frozen crust options, but this one is doughy and soft and tastes delicious! The salads were also very good. My husband really liked his regular gluten crusted pizza, though he said it’s a bit thin compared to the pizzas he usually likes.

Ordered the Mr. Scratch pizza and meatballs. The pizza was about as perfect as it gets. From the crust to the toppings every bite was great. The mozzarella seemed very fresh. The meatballs were well made and seasoned in an old world way. Fantastic food. We will be returning to this new favorite of ours.

This is the best pizza in Dayton, if you like wood fired, fresh made pizza with local ingredients. Flavors are on point and my family is never disappointed here. Great laid back atmosphere, easy for large groups and never a long wait. I know the ‘best’ pizza is always debatable but for the criteria I mentioned, look no further.

When this location first opened, the pizzas and sandwiches were good. Since then, the quality has gone down. Pizzas are all dough and toppings are slim. Italian sandwich has little meat and is all bread. Salads are now mostly lettuce. We are done and will not go back. Done in service is slow. Curb service, however, is great if you preorder
