I just moved to jersey city. I was trying to find a quick bite while cleaning my apartment. This is my first time trying this place. It is absolutely disgusting. I ate out the rice, the meat was very chewy and rubbery. The sauce taste watered down. The chicken wings were not fully cooked. It is soaked in this nasty bbq sauce. I asked for hot sauce and ketchup. I’m very displeased. I will not be ordering again from them. Absolutely disgusting.

We were craving dumplings and hence picked this restaurant. We ordered the steamed vegetable dumplings, eggplant with garlic sauce and white rice, and a dinner combo – ma po tofu that comes with vegetable fried rice and egg roll. Overall, the service was prompt and friendly and the portion size for the food was great! The taste of the dumplings was slightly disappointing (very thick outer layer, almost tasted like a bao) and even though the other two dishes were tasty, they were quite oily and filled us up too quickly! The food is great value for money but not sure if we will visit again.

Update: they are back and better than before with new window at counter! Was walking to Our Hero’s and had to call an audible to celebrate!
I hope they open back up soon. They have been my go to spot for the last few years. I would go at least once a week, and would continue even during these tough times if I could.

Over 20 years ago I got almost every meal, every day from Old Peking. I was a super broke artist and the sweet couple who owns the place always treated us like family and fed us delicious food that literally saved us. It’s so awesome to see they are still open so many years later. I hope to go back one day and leave them a nice tip because I never could afford to leave a tip back in those days. Thank you for the delicious food, you make a bigger impact in the community than you will ever know. Forever grateful 🙂 ps. Beet broccoli in brown sauce I’ve ever had in my life!

I absolutely love this place. This is one of the best Chinese places in Jersey City. Not only are their prices fair but they also take credit card. The staff is friendly and they have a large selection of food to choose from. For example, they offer chicken dumplings. Not many other Chinese places offer that but they have it, and it tastes great! The food is full of flavor and they don’t skimp out on the portion sizes. I have been a loyal customer to them for years and I will continue to be as long as they keep up to great job.

Food was trash..
I ordered the Chicken w/ Broccoli and it was a complete waste of money.. The chicken came out overcooked and had a soggy texture.. Worst part was the aftertaste it gave me smh.
Whatever MSG they used is definitely not it!! I’m tight point blank.
