The Old North State Food Hall is located in Selma, NC at Exit 97 off Interstate 95 housed in the former JR Cigars Outlet building. It is the nation’s first roadside food hall offering an alternative to the usual fast food options with a mix of regional and international cuisines and the Longleaf Tavern, a full service bar. First time I’ve been able to stop and enjoy this strip center, as I usually come just for some cigars and am on my way.
This was so nice. As soon as I walked in, there was a greater there to tell me about all the varieties of food … beef to chicken, to .. just about any good fish you wanted. The pizza place was there, but they’ve yet to open.
I chose the bar because of a rib special they had. All this got $15.99!! I was expecting maybe 4 ribs, not a rack!
Bonus, I was there on a Saturday night and they had karaoke! Wasn’t very busy with singers and such, but the ones there were so friendly and kind .. Southern hospitality.
I’ll be sure to stop when I have the time to enjoy another meal.

The perfect place to stop on your travels…right off of I-95 North. They have lots of food options. We ate the Cuban and Mediterranean and it was all fresh and delicious! Very clean. I wish all rest stops were like this!

My husband and I visited SpiceMeUp today and were greeted by a genuinely kind and welcoming staff member, which set a great tone. We both ordered the Shrimp Bowl. I added a Greek salad and my husband added grape leaves to round out the meal. The flavors were fresh and enjoyable, and the presentation was nice.
That said, for $16 per bowl, receiving only five shrimp felt disappointing. One shrimp wasn’t fully peeled. Our total came to $50, and while the food was good, the portion sizes didn’t quite justify the price. We left feeling like the value didn’t match the cost, which was a letdown given the otherwise pleasant experience.

Inside is super cute, but really lacking in content. We tried food from 3 different places and not one met expectations.. they also dont do fountain drinks, only bottles and its ONLY pepsi products for every vendor. The two that had tea or lemonade were either out of order or just gone.

Great food hall with several options. Most places don’t open until 11. We stopped on our way to DC. Definitely check it out. My husband and I both got the yellow curry. It was quite good.

To be honest, our visit was disappointing, as multiple booths were closed, including the Cuban one that was the primary reason for going there. We went during their posted open hours, but it wasn’t staffed. So we ate at White Swan, and had a nice chicken sandwich. Staff there were very nice.

Was really excited to try but left very disappointed. The chicken has no chicken at all and sauce is so watery! On too broccoli is barley cooked not worth 17.00 dollars!!!!

The food Hall had a great variety of flavors from Cuban to oxtails to down home cooking! My food from Mr Outrageous was delicious, hot and fresh! The best chicken cheese steak I’ve had. My husband had fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade, Asian chili wings and sweet potato fries from a different vendor and that was delicious too!

11/15/25 around 8P Aroma De Cuba gave us two fried hamburger sandwiches with green olives (on just one) and some green sauce… for $4.99 each. She just threw this greasy concoction straight in the bag with the napkins.
This thing should be $0.02 and at LEAST come with a mint or milk. It left an after-taste in my mouth.
My first mistake was trusting this place because the grade said 100. Second mistake not checking the bag before we walked away.

We tried 3 different restaurants in this facility, and all of them were great. With the different options available, anyone can find something to eat in one stop. I feel this is a great idea and with the shopping center opening across the street it should become a very popular place.
