The bartender holding down the whole bar and restaurant during dinner time won me over, however this steak was probably the best we had on our whole trip. Montana steak is the best in the US and this might be the best in Montana. We’ve been meaning to stop here for years on our journey west but finally made it happen and it didn’t disappoint. We happened to be here on a Tuesday and the tacos looked incredible as well! I can’t believe the bar is in such amazing shape for it’s age. This place is a gem!

Great food and great service. Driving through we stopped to take a break and grab lunch. My husband ordered the steak and potato he really enjoyed it. Our server was very friendly and kept our drinks full. It was late in the afternoon so it was fairly slow. We would highly recommend stopping in.

Very disappointing. We have eaten here a few times and have had great service but just “okay” food. The other night, I ordered the “Fish & Chips”. What I received was three tiny pieces of fish, a tiny amount of french fries, and a “condiment” sized cup of coleslaw. The uploaded picture is the actual meal as served.
Now the batter on the fish was honestly so salty, it tasted like someone had dumped salt in the batter instead of flour. It almost made me gag. I had to pick all the batter off of the fish just to eat it and it was still horribly salty. How could nobody in the kitchen catch this? I have never sent food back to a kitchen, but I honestly thought about it.
Secondly, Fries cost nearly nothing to make a happy customer. So when you put a ton of fries on a plate, it costs pennies to make the customer go, “WOW, that is huge”. When you put a tiny amount, the customer goes “There is hardly any food”. A word to the kitchen, load up on the fries if your going to be cheap on the rest of the food. I paid way too much and left hungry. Not a good combination if you want repeat customers.
The service has always been good and the only reason they received as many stars as they did.

If you’re nearly at the border (or just crossing over) and you’re craving some great steak and a very homey atmosphere, the Old Montana Bar is the place to visit. It’s nestled in a very small town just off of the I-90 and if they had saloon doors that swung about freely, you’d be hard-pressed not to imagine yourself in an old western.
Friendly and accommodating staff, a nice and laid-back atmosphere, and a handful of casino games if you’re into that sort of thing. However, if we’re talking about steaks, these folks serve up some pretty mean dishes such as the Wagyu Sirloin that I sampled as I passed through town! A nice, tender and juicy steak surrounded by the vegetables of the day and your choice of side (can’t go wrong with Jo-Jos), as well as a soup or salad to start. The portion was great for the price and quality of meat, and I wouldn’t doubt that any of the other delicious choices would be any different.

This place is 100% originally Montana Authentic tried and true!!!! I was very impressed. Im a highly rated 5-star chef at my restaurant and I love exploring places like this actress Montana. The food was fantastic especially after a full day on the Hiawatha trail riding and huckleberry picking! My ribeye was kind of thin cut but full of great flavor as expected with a ribeyecut. It was however a bit over cooked! I orderd Medium Rare and got a medium well cooked steak!!! It’s hard to achieve that with thin cut steaks but not impossible! Work on that part and you will definitely get 5 star reviews from here on out! Other then that, yall nailed it for a Monday night in Montana. Blanton Burbon $16 a glass is un heard of! Thank you
Other places charge $26 or more a glass across the state

Great food, fabulous waitress. Looks like a fun place to hang out at. Saw a karaoke machine and they have keno machines, a juke box and electronic dart machine. Will definitely go back.
