Perch plate was nicely done, wife lived the steak sandwich with blue cheese. The sandwich came with freshly made potato chips…delish!
The friday Walleye special got rave reviews. And if your really lucky you’ll get a train to come by and provide a m flashback of what the old grainmill was built for many years ago
My daughter and I are vegetarians, and the Old Mill had many options for us.
We started with the Buffalo cheese curds, which were delicious.
Our daughter got the ploughman’s grilled cheese, which included Gala apple slices as one of the ingredients. She loved it.
Her roommate got the special of the day, which was a spicy chicken sandwich. It had Cajun seasoning, but she said it wasn’t very spicy. She still liked it a lot. It had a massive piece of chicken on it!
My wife and I decided to split two entrees. We got the smoked mac and cheese and the jalapeno popper grilled cheese. Both were delicious. The mac and cheese serving was so generous that we got three meals out of it! We ate some at the restaurant, then I had some for lunch the next day, and my wife had the rest for dinner.
Additionally, their beer was great.
Overall, we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.
Cool building!
The burger was a bit dry for my liking even though pink.
Needs more dessert options.
I brought my son in to eat with me and the bartender broke out some table tricks he had taught my son to balance a salt shaker and even a pepper shaker on some salt which kept my son busy a while. We had a great son and dad night. We even enjoyed the pin ball machines in the upstairs section they even have bean bag toss. Great restaurant
The proportions are good, the food is good, the service is good, and it’s a clean place. But it’s just pub food in a small town and didn’t taste anything more than just that, yet I paid Kzoo/GR prices.
I think if you want to go here to experience it – since it is a historical place and pretty cool – you should do it—I don’t think it’s a waste to eat here. But, I do know that this was my last visit.
