Waitress and hostesses were super friendly. Mac and cheese was great. Blue cheese burger was a bit dry…might be better if a little blue cheese dressing was used for moisture. Building is a really neat old grain mill but could use a little cobweb cleanup soon. Would have liked to see more dessert options. Overall, good food, great staff, comfortable atmosphere and we will plan to go back again.

Great food great service and atmosphere nice local beer menu.

Perch plate was nicely done, wife lived the steak sandwich with blue cheese. The sandwich came with freshly made potato chips…delish!
The friday Walleye special got rave reviews. And if your really lucky you’ll get a train to come by and provide a m flashback of what the old grainmill was built for many years ago

My wife and I drove to Plainwell to meet our daughter and her roommate for dinner. My wife suggested we meet at the Old Mill, and she made a great choice.
My daughter and I are vegetarians, and the Old Mill had many options for us.
We started with the Buffalo cheese curds, which were delicious.
Our daughter got the ploughman’s grilled cheese, which included Gala apple slices as one of the ingredients. She loved it.
Her roommate got the special of the day, which was a spicy chicken sandwich. It had Cajun seasoning, but she said it wasn’t very spicy. She still liked it a lot. It had a massive piece of chicken on it!
My wife and I decided to split two entrees. We got the smoked mac and cheese and the jalapeno popper grilled cheese. Both were delicious. The mac and cheese serving was so generous that we got three meals out of it! We ate some at the restaurant, then I had some for lunch the next day, and my wife had the rest for dinner.
Additionally, their beer was great.
Overall, we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

Cool building!
The burger was a bit dry for my liking even though pink.
Needs more dessert options.

Great food and wonderful service. Good bar tender
I brought my son in to eat with me and the bartender broke out some table tricks he had taught my son to balance a salt shaker and even a pepper shaker on some salt which kept my son busy a while. We had a great son and dad night. We even enjoyed the pin ball machines in the upstairs section they even have bean bag toss. Great restaurant

I’ve been here a few times—dining in and take-home. It wasn’t *bad* but it certainly wasn’t outstanding. Personally, I think their prices are a few dollars too high for what you get.

The proportions are good, the food is good, the service is good, and it’s a clean place. But it’s just pub food in a small town and didn’t taste anything more than just that, yet I paid Kzoo/GR prices.

I think if you want to go here to experience it – since it is a historical place and pretty cool – you should do it—I don’t think it’s a waste to eat here. But, I do know that this was my last visit.

Ate there today, 2/27/26. I ordered the blackened chicken breast with the rice and broccoli. Really?!?! The broccoli, cooked perfect, but no flavor and dry, like they sat it out and it dried up. The rice, very strange flavor, just not good! Now, the chicken, worst blackened chicken I truly had in my life!! It was over spiced with heat and burned the lips, absolutely so dry it was like it sat out for a day then reheated in microwave, very tough also because of that, as for size, could not have been more than three ounces! If done correctly it should have been seared in a very hot pan to blacken the chicken to get the charred and done fast so inside will still have some moisture, but was dry, VERY DRY!! Wife tasted it, said the same thing. Sister got a wrap, & wife got a wrap, both came with the chips, wife’s tasted burned, sisters were JUST ok! Someone else got the beef stroganoff, tasted it, man what can I say, tasteless, Chef Boy R Dee makes better!! Ever go back, I’ll let people reading this judge whether I’ll be back, NEVER!!

We stopped in and ordered all apps! The burnt end hot dogs, smoked whitefish dip, and tater tots. This is such a gorgeous building -just watch your step, the floor is stunning but a little uneven with age! Staff were really friendly. The whitefish dip was good -lots of dill, which I like, but I couldn’t really taste the smoky fish. The hot dogs were a dark horse surprise. I made fun of my partner for ordering, but I went back for thirds! They’re weird, but oddly good and the Texas toast really makes the meal. The tots were good, ya can’t go wrong with tots! All in all, it was good! Price-wise I think perhaps a smidge high ($35 for 2 appetizers and a basket of tots), but not so high that we won’t be back at some point.
