We were drawn in by the promise of authentic schnitzel and it did not fail to deliver. So hot and crisp and yummy. The recommendation was no sauce but we were intrigued with the mushroom sauce so we compromised and had it in the side. The recommendation was right. Plain was best. The portion was large but too good not to finish. Then we were tempted with apple strudel with ice cream. Too good to pass up. If in Markham or Unionville this place shouldn’t be missed

Charming and cozy spot that has pretty decent Sausages and Schnitzel. We also had a special at the time of our visit, which was the Roulade. We had an attentive server, an older lady who was friendly and really made the experience more pleasant.

Relaxed atmosphere. Amazing staff. Great food.
Enjoyable meal. Food is authentic to Austria/Germany. Portions are large. Good value.
Will be back. Mainstay in the Unionville community.
Accessible washroom on ground floor.
In a Victorian house.
It can be $20 to $30 per person if just order main dish.

We had a fantastic experience here! The service and food were both top-notch. I was honestly surprised by the high quality and the depth of the flavors. I had the goulash and my boyfriend ordered the chicken schnitzel with vegetables—both were absolutely wonderful and the prices were pretty reasonable. I can’t recommend this place enough!

This has been our go-to spot for family meals as Unionville locals with German heritage. The food is always consistently excellent and truly brings me back to my childhood. The bratwurst and schnitzel are absolute standouts and never disappoint. If you’re looking for an authentic German/Austrian meal with a comforting, home-style feel, I can’t recommend this place enough.

We just left (July 9) and had amazing service and food. Wish I grabbed servers name, she was awesome. We had the cabbage rolls to start and it was amazing sauce. I had the goulash and it was great. I’ve never had dumplings before!

Indeed a nice dining experience in this old cozy German restaurant. Note that their entrance is not the front door.

Went here for first time. Very homey atmosphere. Food is authentic Austrian and delicious. We had the liver dumpling soup, meat platter, cheese schnitzel, sausages and dessert. Our server Linda was amazing, especially given how packed the place was; so friendly, happy and very helpful with menu picks…. Apple fritters and apple strudel were must tries. We decided this will be a new family favourite spot for home cooked Austrian food.

Had an amazing lunch experience here on a Saturday afternoon. Warm and welcoming dining room with big natural skylight creates a great atmosphere! You gotta have the Viennese coffee and any of the schnitzels.. they’re extremely generous portions. Service was lovely as well, very charming place.

The schnitzel that we ordered was great, it was nice & tender which can be hard to do sometimes. The accompanying vegetables were undercooked. I could best describe the service as indifferent. We mentioned it was our first visit which generally gets a bit of conversation started but not in this case. We will probably try the restaurant again because the schnitzel was very good.
