Old Carolina BBQ in Alliance is a 10/10! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone, and the pulled pork was packed with flavor. The mac & cheese and fries were just as good as the meats. Friendly service and great atmosphere. Definitely one of the best BBQ spots in the area — we’ll be back!

It’s a great place to go eat when you are craving BBQ. Loved the Hush Puppies. Their Banana Cheesecake and Banana Pudding are out of this world. Very attentive employees. We got ribs today. Sooooo good! They had the new dessert, small cinnamon and powdered donuts. Soooo delish.

Had never heard of this chain. We went for a quick dinner. Wasn’t really quick, despite only two others in there. Fries and mac and cheese were both cold. Wife said her ribs were ok, my Nashville hot chicken was far from hot, and far from spicy. All in all not the experience I expected for $40.

Oh how I have missed this place!! I lived in North Canton back in 2009-2011 and this was my favorite restaurant. Truly good BBQ is impossible to find in SW PA where I now live.
When we found ourselves in Canton last night picking up a car for my daughter, we had to come eat here. It was actually even better than I remembered! We got the sampler platter, which was a treat because I’d never had the pulled chicken or smoked wings before. They hit every bit as hard as the fall cleanly off the bone ribs. Even the creamy slaw and corn bread was top notch.
This going into a summer road trip list for me. If you haven’t eaten here yet, get thee to an Old Carolina!

I would normally give them a 5 star review! I love their food, have had it many times!! However, this past time I went there, I ordered the pulled pork, garlic mash potatoes, and coleslaw, also comes with a biscuit. Everything was good love the garlic mash potatoes, but the pulled pork was not as good as usual, pretty disappointed, Not much shredded pork, sort of dry and had very hard pieces in it. My friend had the brisket with fries, and you get a lot of fries, that were good and hot, very fresh. But again, that was the first time I was disappointed in the pork! I love there food and have even bought there bbq sauce! My son had his reception catered by them, they did a wonderful job, the food was DELICIOUS! Maybe it was just an off day!! There is inside and outside seating. The employees are always friendly and polite! I will go back, like I said the food is always delicious, and one time of disappointment of the pork will not stop me from returning!!

A childhood favorite restaurant we have to stop at whenever we are in town. One of the few places I have found cheerwine on tap and occasionally has 12packs for sale. Good value for bbq, and the chicken tenders are very good! We also liked the vanilla cinnamon butter cornbread and banana pudding cheesecake.

Had the Calabash Seafood Combo special for the Lent season. It was very good. The sweet tea was bitter and it’s usually really good. The service was good.
3/25/25 Update: Back again for the Calabash Seafood Combo. The fish filets were very small – disappointing. The fish and shrimp were heavily coated with a salty bay type seasoning that was about twice as thick as prior years – not good. But the sweet tea was great this time, so at least I had something to wash it down with. The slaw, baked beans, and hush puppies were excellent. My wife’s brisket was really good as well.

First time here and was pleasantly surprised. Ribs were good, pulled chicken nice, hush puppies really nice and the baked beans fantastic! Plus people were very friendly!

It’s fast food, but it’s really, really good bbq. The pulled pork was incredible. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, and pretty perfect. My son loved his brisket and made happy food noises over the mashed potatoes. We both thought the cornbread rocked. Portion sizes were great for the price.
