Nicest greeting with biggest smile right when you walk in! Parking is really easy @ SALT at our Kaka’ako. Tendon rice is an excellent choice! Rice is imported from Japan and soooo good. Spicy mayo is another good one. Also the Oahu COFFEE there is refreshing! I highly recommend this place. I can’t wait to try other dishes next time ❤️

Great addition to the Salt area in Kaka’ako! Menu has great options and fusion of poke and tempura (which I’ve never seen before on the island). Quality is solid, would have preferred the tempura to be slightly more crispy though. The tuna melts on the tongue. Convenient ordering through tablets and didn’t have to wait long for order. Also liked the drink options! Would definitely recommend.

Placing your order is through a self-ordering kiosk using their iPad. As for the food, it was alright. My friend and I got the island crunch that was almost $19 and it comes with spicy poke ahi, two pieces of ahi katsu, and one shrimp tempura. Portions felt a bit small for the price point. The spicy ahi was fresh, but I wish the sauce was a bit more spicy. It would’ve been nice if they had a self-serve water station instead of asking the staff for a cup. I probably won’t come here again.

Came here for lunch with a friend and ordered the Okome Tendon. Flavor wise, the food itself was good and the tempura was enjoyable, but a few things held the experience back for me. The biggest one was that it felt like there was not enough rice compared to the amount of toppings, which threw off the balance of the bowl.

Another downside was the temperature of the food. It was not very hot when it came out, and I noticed the owner or manager taking photos of the dish for social media after it was already made. While I get the marketing side of it, it did seem to delay things a bit and probably contributed to the food cooling down.

I was also a little disappointed with the egg. I was expecting a tempura egg, but it turned out to just be a boiled egg with tempura sauce on it. Not bad, just not what I thought I was ordering.

The setup is convenient. You can order at the counter or use the iPad to place your order and then sit down. There is lots of seating inside and plenty of parking since it is located at SALT Kakaako, which is a huge plus for lunch.

Employees were friendly and the space felt casual and clean. Overall, the food concept is solid and the flavors are there, but portion balance and food temperature need some improvement for it to really stand out.

From the moment I walked in, the service was quick and welcoming. I ordered the Spicy Mayo Ahi, and it was the best poke bowl I’ve had. The fish was fresh, the flavors were balanced, and everything tasted high quality. The restaurant also has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, and I would definitely recommend it.

Tendon means something completely different in Japan. It’s basically tempura over rice, so don’t come expecting pieces of tendon.

Looks like they’ve taken over the old Redfish spot. I ordered the volcano bowl, which was served on a bed of sushi rice. The poke was fresh and delicious, but the portion size didn’t come close to what’s advertised.

Overall the poke is great, but I need a reason to come here instead of going to Tamura’s or Foodland where i get more bang for my buck, and right now I’m not sure they offer that.

Everything was very delicious! The fish was extremely fresh and flavorful. The tuna was tender, perfectly prepared, and paired really well with the rice and sauce. Great quality ingredients — we really enjoyed it and would definitely come back again
