When visiting Ok Yaki on a Friday night, the place with abuzz with merriment and energy. Definitely a happening place. Yet the food turned out to be average. I was expecting fireworks but instead found a gentle fizzle. Only one dish really impressed us – the Karaage – considering its great flavor, juiciness, and crispiness. The gyozas, on the other hand, we’re limp and flavorless. Every other dish we ordered was good yet unremarkable. That included a large okonomiyaki, the yaki udon, age-onigiri, tonkatsu, hiyashi kyuuri, and the teppan steak.

We spent $127 for a four-person dinner, before tipping (no alcohol, no dessert, 2 mocktails, 6 small plates, and 3 main entrées).

We won’t be returning to Ok Yaki.

Ok Yaki is one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. The moment you walk in, you can feel the good energy—the staff here is genuinely amazing, welcoming, and attentive. The vibe of the restaurant is relaxed but lively, making it a great place to grab dinner with friends or enjoy a cozy night out.

The food is consistently great. My go-to order is the Yaki Udon and the age onigiri — both always hit the spot and are packed with flavor. If you’re looking for a drink to pair with your meal, definitely try the Kusuri Buck. It’s the perfect blend and highly recommended.

The only downside is the parking. It’s limited, and there isn’t an overflow lot, so if the main spots are full, you’ll need to find parking nearby on your own. It’s not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind.

Overall, Ok Yaki is a little gem that’s absolutely worth the visit. Great people, great food, great atmosphere — just be prepared to hunt for a parking spot during their busy times!

Really a great little spot in East Atlanta Village!

I’m a vegetarian and the options abounded. All of our dishes were delicious. We sat at the bar, and the service was personable and helpful. Will absolutely be returning.

I ordered the smaller portion of the yakisoba with tofu. While it wasn’t my favorite dish, it wasn’t bad either. The server, however, was great; very attentive, helpful, and asked all the right questions. The menu is simple and easy to read, and the price point is reasonable. My group thoroughly enjoyed their dishes, including the Japanese curry with fried tofu and the okonomiyaki with steak. Although my meal wasn’t exactly what I hoped for, I still appreciated the overall experience.

I came here with my wife and just recently came with a friend from out of town and we all loved the food. The atmosphere at the restaurant. The staff were fantastic and the food is really well made. The food is fresh and perfectly seasoned. The staff are very professional and very friendly. The design and decoration of the restaurant is really well thought out. There’s lots of outdoor seating in the back. The boots are spacious and big. The bar seating is comfortable and you get to really chat with people.

Right off the bat, love the atmosphere. Food could be better. As a person who been to Japan and also in the food industry, the menu could be so much better. The oknomayaki was 9/10, for 9 dollars a small size is pretty pricy. The wasabi ae is 8/10, not sure if the leaf on the bottom is a beafsteak leaf.. it’s not appealing after eating everything with daikon.

I would suggest cutting some of your menu items and adding yakitori. I know it’s more prep work but the current menu doesn’t really pop.

This is place is pretty decent place. The Okonomiyaki is amazing flavor and a very comfortable yet welcoming presentation. Seating is pretty decent as well. They have booths, bar-side seating and outdoor patio seating. Service is pretty chill and friendly too. Definitely a nice day or night spot to come with friends who want to try something familiar but yet new in its own way.

This place is a hidden gem. The food and cocktails are amazing. The flavors are incredible and the dishes have depth. If you aren’t sure what goes well together, ask the staff. They are extremely kind and knowledgeable. Parking is limited. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Well behaved dogs are permitted on the patio.

Fun gem in Atlanta. I really like the onigiri and small plates. Also the Japanese curry is a great main course. They did a hotpot special the other night and it was amazing. One of my favorite Friday night dinner and drink spots.

Been looking for decent Osaka style Okonomiaki and came across this place on Google. This was the closest I’ve come to outside of Japan yet. Center was a bit loose, but it was damn good. Tried the gyoza, karaage, and Japanese curry with a tonkatsu cutlet. Only disappointing thing was the curry itself – the premix wasn’t great – but the tonkatsu was prefect. Everything else was amazing, and I look forward to going back on Tuesday for their tacoyaki special.
