The amount of veg was vastly different, shame since it’s one of the best parts as far as I am concerned and mine were not very plentiful. The food was not very hot either, probably better to get the “grill in front of you” option if you want it hot.
The service was sketchy. The soup and salad came fast, the food not long after. Asked for chopsticks which we waited quite a while for, and we never saw another staff member until we stopped a waiter passing by and asked for a take out box and the check.
It took us 30 minutes to receive food. Despite us sitting and ordering first, before other tables. Servers standing around and just watching their own Hibachi performances.
We only received our food after staring at the staff. One chef squatting in the kitchen playing on his phone. Though there’s a reason why most don’t eat at hibachi places. Usually a cash-grab for a mediocre meal
Soup that comes with the combo — mushrooms are paper thin (not even kidding…) in salty water. House salad is somehow also watery.
Veggies are tiny or burnt. Even steak bits come out over cooked. The sad mayo-sauce used for sushi is served with your platter. It sort of helps out, but it’s also mysteriously watery. I suppose their budget is tight.
We ordered hibachi chicken from the live kitchen, which clearly states on the menu that it comes with soup, salad, appetizer, and fried rice.
First, they refused to start cooking until the entire hibachi table was full, which caused an unnecessary delay. There is no privacy because you need to share table with others! Did not like this at all!
Then the waiter girl came and repeatedly asked whether we wanted soup or salad, even though the menu clearly says it comes with both. At first, we thought maybe we misunderstood. But later, when other guests pointed out that the meal includes both soup and salad, the waitress suddenly changed her tone and acted as if everything she had said before was correct. Very unprofessional.
After that, we were never served the appetizer. When I asked the waitress about it, she said nothing. When the hibachi chef came, we asked again—he gave shrimp only to me, but no appetizers to the rest of the table, where everybody ordered hibachi’s items which was extremely strange and unfair.
To make things worse, when we received the bill, they had automatically added an 18% gratuity, even though gratuity is supposed to be added only for parties of 6 or more, which we were not. We were only two people. When my husband pointed this out, the waitress immediately said, “I know the bill is wrong, let me change it.” That made us feel like this was done on purpose, not by mistake.
Overall, the service was confusing, unfair, and dishonest. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We left very happy and more importantly, FULL of great food.
