We had the pleasure of dining at this Portuguese restaurant for the first time, and it was such a delightful experience! The food was incredibly flavorful and felt so authentic—every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous, with each dish easily enough for two people to share. I particularly loved the tender meats and perfectly seasoned gravy. The lovely lady who served us made the experience even better with her warm service. As it was our first time trying Portuguese cuisine, we were thoroughly impressed. We’ll definitely be coming back for another visit!

If you like Spanish Portuguese food, this will satisfy whatever you feel like steaks to chops to fish to Mariscos . I took an order of garlic pork chops which were delicious and a great value to go for dinner later! The waiter I don’t know if I’m spelling it right, Solo was terrific and attentive and he had a full bar to deal with too! I will probably go there today again!

Lovely local place, friendly and unpretentious.
Very friendly staff, lovely, relaxed and classic diner atmosphere without being stuffy. The food was delicious, we ordered the chicken parmesan, chicken with garlic sauce and shrimp with garlic sauce and it tasted fresh and lovely. We did not have to wait long for our food and while we waited we were served lovely fresh, warm bread – it was delish. Definitely coming back.

What a great little spot food was yummy we had the clams in the garlic sauce to start which was nicely cooked. I then had the grilled swordfish which was juicy and yummy. Very chill environment with a pleasant and accommodating staff. Read online the ownership changed recently and wish them the best of luck the only downside was parking but one of the joys of Kearny unfortunately.

Took my family here on a whim in the hopes of finding a local neighborhood Portuguese restaurant where we could have some decent seafood on a Saturday night. My wife and I split the “Chef Seafood Combination” from the Signature Dishes section and it was a bad experience. The fish was really fishy, the lobster tail overcooked to a real rubbery chew, and the scallops were questionably undercooked. My kids had the Lomo Saltado and the Picanha and both dishes were mediocre. Portion sizes were generous, though.
The service was really slow but the waitresses were courteous and friendly. The atmosphere is trying to be too many things all at once and it is not particularly special nor unbearable.

Been coming here for years and although they have a new owner , same cook and menu, I got the open face striped bass. My favorite dish here!! The sangria is still good! Definitely worth it if you’re in area

Great place! Awesome food, cold water and amazing atmosphere. Came here for lunch and had the boiled codfish and pork sandwich. Soooo yummy! Authentic Portuguese food and they speak Portuguese as well. Don’t worry, they speak English too!
Tables have real linen and real linen tablecloths.
Full bar service as well.
Amazing place! Money well spent for great food!!!
Only down about this place is no parking. All parking is on the street parking with meters.

I ordered jalea and rice, and what I got was honestly inedible. The seafood was dry and stale — like it had been sitting out for hours, if not days. The rice was just as bad: flavorless and hard. I ended up eating the plain bread they tossed in the bag because it was the only thing remotely edible. Extremely disappointing, especially for the price. I won’t be ordering from here again.
