Danishes are still out of this world good!!!!!
But…super disappointed with the pecan kringle this year so only 4 stars. It’s not the same quality as I remember from over the last 60 years that we have been buying. Pecan was mostly paste filling and not the crunchy yummy pecan filling of the past. Wheres the nuts? I just feel like the kringle has lost its lustre.
I will stick to danishes and the amazing pecan rolls in the future! It’s still, hands down, the best bakery in Racine in my opinion.

Just go order one to be delivered for any occasion and you will continue to order them periodically because they are stupid delicious, reasonably priced, and delivered very quickly. I believe there are some grocery outlets that sell them as well. When you see the O&H Kringle label, simply pick one up…you won’t regret it ever!

Went to buy a Banana Cream Pie Kringle. While there I also bought 4 Danish and 4 Frosted cookies. I love the bakery at O&H. No matter who waits on you or checks you out are always very friendly. The store is always clean, well organized, and well stocked.
I love going to O&H, it’s not close to where I live but well worth the trip!

Dulce de Leche Paczki: O&H Danish Bakery opened in 1949 and has been family owned for four generations. Although they’re known primarily for their Kringles, one of their unique seasonal offerings is paczki. A paczki is sometimes confused with a doughnut, but there are some key differences. Paczki are denser, richer, and chewier because they contain more eggs, butter, and enriching ingredients like high-gluten flour and grain alcohol. Like a bismark doughnut, they are deep-fried dough, filled with confiture (yuck) or other sweet filling, and are usually covered in powdered sugar, icing, or glaze. They originated in Poland as a way to use up leftover ingredients that are considered rich in flavor before the start of lent. Don’t feel bad if you’ve never heard of paczki as they are a regional treat in the U.S. (primarily in the Midwest). Even though I’ve lived in the Midwest my entire life, I’ve avoided paczki as I find fruit filling to be gross (like traditional prune, really!?). O&H solved my problem with their new Dulce de Leche Paczki. It’s absolutely stuffed with smooth caramel custard, topped with rich caramel icing, and teeming with crunchy toffee bits and a few chocolate chunks. My paczki was huge and hefty thanks to all that filling, and they did not skimp like some doughnut shops notoriously do. To be honest, I did not notice any difference with the texture compared to that of a doughnut (not a complaint, just observation). Another observation is it looked different from the stock photo and even some of the others on display. Specifically, it had significantly less chocolate chunks and way more toffee. I was disappointed initially, but it ended up being irrelevant because what surprised me the most was the crunchy toffee bits. The texture and flavor were fantastic, while on the other hand the chocolate was overly bitter. In the end, I chose wisely for my first ever paczki, Doughboy approved

*I hope this is back next year and that they continue to experiment with non-fruit flavors, like Nutella and cookie butter. It would be nice if paczki were available for a week or so instead of one day, but there might be a logistical reason for that or they’re just traditionalists. I also want to note that I chose O&H over several other local bakeries for my first paczki for a few key reasons:
1. Online ordering
2. Multiple locations (one was conveniently near me)
3. Flavor selection
4. Price

UPDATE: It is now February 11th and no one has reached out to me to try to resolve this. And we HAVE purchased other kringles since, which truthfully, weren’t much better quality. Very disappointed in a business I used to praise to everyone. I guess the younger generation that’s taking over didn’t learn good hospitality practices.

I purchased a cherry cheese and a Santa’s secret kringle on 12/24 for Christmas and was quite disappointed. I know they are frozen at times and are still very good, however, the cherry cheese was extremely dry and the Santa’s one was very wet and mushy. What happened? Also, just my opinion, but the “icing ” on Santa’s was very heavy. And personally, I think a cream cheese icing would compliment the red velvet better.

This is the second location I visit, I normally go to the Oak Creek one, but this one is thousand times better. The people working were very kind and the baking goods are delicious! We normally get the amazing Kringles, but today we got some donuts for a change, and they were delicious as expected. Additionally, the atmosphere was great, loved all details in their decoration.

Used to be the best bakery around, last several cakes have been sub optimal! I always get Danish layer and the cake has been dry and O&H has been cheaping out on the filling big time! If this is what has become of them, then grocery store bday cakes it will be! So very disappointing! However, the kringle is still top notch!
