Review of OG ZAZA Pizza in Shakopee, MN – Facebook

We got one pepperoni and one margherita. Crust was very good, right amount of cheese. But, the sauce could be a little sweeter. Cost was right around $32.

Really sucks you have to order from a kiosk. Makes it really hard to ask questions or get recommendations especially when it’s your first time. One employee working at lunch time on a Monday. Got there at noon. If I had not seen the sign talking about the lunch deal I would have missed it. Since it is the last option on the menu when you start. Decided to try the Hell Raiser. Once ordered it came pretty quick. Didn’t time it for sure 5-10 minutes. Really cool looking store. Pizza definitely needs more cheese. Especially for a 12” pizza at the price they charge. The crust was a little more burnt in places I like. The pizza was over all pretty solid. Would give it a 7 out of 10. The store looks great and having the video games is pretty cool.

Wanted to get this place for awhile, they changed locations which there is nothing wrong with that. Last night I tried it for the first time I had high hopes cause the pictures looked very good. Got the $35 family meal deal, honestly a very good deal. But it just seems like this place is trying way too hard to be unique, the pizza options looked good. And I got 3 different pizzas each priced at $20 normally so my standards were high. I would never in my life go to this restaurant again. Bread stick is like a log of wood with slight flavor. Pizza is super thin, no sauce, hardly any cheese. When you get to the crust it’s like you’re trying to eat cardboard. This place is way too overpriced and quirky for an average pizza restaurant. In my opinion the cesear salad should not be better than the pizza.

Delicious Neapolitan-style pizza. Got the margherita and meatball. Delicious meatballs and ricotta, but the margherita lets you taste their fantastic tomato sauce so directly and is so good. I have to say it’s a new favorite of mine.

Wow.. ordered a kids meal for pickup and was served a completely RAW pizza!! Dough was not cooked at all. This is really unacceptable to serve to anyone. Called the store they said there is nothing we can do for you! I didn’t even get the milk that is supposed to come with the meal (as purchased and advertised). No apology was given, no offer to remake the food, no offer for my money back.

Horrible food and HORRIBLE service.
Save your money and go to any other of the dozen restaurants in the area.

I heard a lot of good things about this place. It was clean.I had an awesome open kitchen with an impressive oven.

The service was absent and cold these guys’ enthusiasm and facial expressions made them look like they were prison cooks. I get it work sucks, but not a single greetings or farewell, not even a head nod or a thanks for coming. They don’t call out names when they put it on the counter. Which may be because people come after it’s done. But there were several people waiting near it. Maybe I didn’t hear.

The pizza it was aggressively average. I did have to drive it home about 10 minutes. So I understand quality can be affected. Like the chewy crust and breadstick, a reheat on a pizza stone helped a bit, but regardless, the flavor still wasn’t there. I grew up on Jack’s. I still get one once in a great while. I wish I would have got some of those tonight instead. I don’t like to complain or be ungrateful. So I didn’t say anything at my family dinner untill everybody else started to mention disappointment. Maybe we just hit an unlucky time Nothing can be amazing every time. And the Ranch? Last place, sorry. Some salt, acidity, more fat something!! Way too bland and flavor profiles were way unbalanced ease up on the dill dang.

This is just an opinion of a a stranger who absolutely loves pizza i will try it again, maybe dine in and update my review if more positive of an experience. Go in and try it for yourself.

Greeted by the guys making the pizza, but you order from a kiosk, which is a bit odd unless you are fast food. No other interaction until we left. No water or plates when dining in. They have created a dine in experience that feels like you are always taking it to go. Everything is served in a box, which is a waste. No other diners there in a Wednesday at about 6:30. So ambiance is not great. Pizzas were okay. Not up to New Haven flavor (yes I have had New Haven pizzas in New Haven). This is more of a simpler cheaper Neapolitan-Punch style since it is 12”. Overall pizza was okay. Nothing great. My basis for review is always the Margarita and it had the right sauce, but lacked the mozzarella or basil. Okay crust, a bit dry.

Fast, friendly, and SUPER delicious food! If you have not eaten here, you definitely need to stop in to OG ZaZa for. My husband and I got the hell raiser and I got the truffle shrooms. The new haven style is cooked to perfection in a Woodfired stone oven. Eclectic decor and super friendly staff. We waited less than 10 minutes for our Za! We’ll worth it! We will be back!!

I’ve had four different pizzas here so far for takeout. I think that this place does a very good job of creating flavor profiles and running with it.

For instance, the hot honey in the Parma pizza is not overdone, and complements the sort of tangy flavor of both the ham and the cheese.

Likewise, the truffle pizza is not just a taste of truffle—it has a clear mushroom theme that is not dominated by truffle, and the onion serves as a nice foil to balance the mushroomy flavor.

The crust is also really nice. I appreciate the coloring on the bottom, which adds a lot of smoky flavor. The crust also doesn’t flop around even though it’s thin, which I appreciate. Likewise, the breadstick was also very tasty end of the same caliber as the crust (though, of course a bit thicker).

Currently, there are many promotions being run for ordering online and on certain times/days of the week. For the quality offered, the price-quality ratio of these pizzas a steal with the promotions. I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.

Edit: having tried most of the menu now, I think that the “strange” combinations are the most worthwhile to order. While the red sauce pizzas are by no means bad (they are quite good actually), how many places can you get a carbonara or dill pickle pizza at? These are not gimmicks, but very good offerings that warrant a try.

I went there with a friend today for a mid afternoon pizza. For both of us it was our first visit to OG Zaza. Using the kiosk to order was very easy. There was also an employee nearby who was available if we had questions. We got the meatball pizza and both of us loved it. Thin crust, very crispy, absolutely delicious overall. We definitely plan to go back soon.

Anyone who hates on this pizza is nuts and don’t listen to them. Yeah, it’s not a sit down restaurant. They don’t serve booze. They don’t want to be those things. They want to serve Smokey, crispy, very slightly charred crust in an incredible oven at top tier temps. It’s as close to New Haven style Za as I’ve ever had. I like many types of pizza and can respect Detroit style, bar pies, deep dish, true 20” New York pies and, of course, New Haven. I can’t pick a favorite style because if done right and you’re in the mood for that particular style, I love them all. That being said, this place has an outstanding and unique crust with phenomenal sauce. And some unique options. To top it off,. Their new house made jalapeño ranch absolutely smacks. Keep doing you ZaZa, that’s why you’re loved!!! A great business and one I’m happy to support. Cheers to a top tier pizza!!!
