We just got a couple of beers and we didn’t order food. Beers tasted just like beers, but I was more entertained with the atmosphere. A group of runners was right outside the patio gate preparing for a run and I enjoyed eavesdropping on them while I sipped my nummy beer. Waitress was friendly, I like her, she was cool.
Cool place, next time I will eat something.
Good thing I didn’t order the chicken wings, who knows what I would have came out with.
Come over for stop by, and see for yourself.
Ordered the Scottish eggs and the Celtic clams for appetizers. The Scottish eggs were good, but not exactly our thing. The Celtic clams were severely lacking, not in quality or preparation; they lacked size. We’ve never seen clams as small as these, each clam’s meat was smaller than a dime; most about half the size of a dime. Width was around a quarter. I’m sure it weighed 1 pound as advertised on the menu, just keep in mind 98% (probably more) of that weight is shell.
For entrees we ordered the fish and chips, the shamus burger, the Irish burger, and the butte pastie.
The fish and chips is a really sizable piece of fish. Good crisp on the breading, the fish remained juicy. The chips are listed as fresh cut, but they seemed like they were not fresh cut. Good crisp, but the interior was unlike other fresh cut fries we have had at every other restaurant with fresh cut fries across the nation.
Shamus burger – quality burger with great ingredients. The bread and the bacon both stood out as really great quality tasty components. Extremely filling burger.
Irish burger – quality burger also with great ingredients. I didn’t get a taste, my 10 year old granddaughter inhaled it too quickly.
Butte pastie – quality dish. It is a comfort food dish, it tastes good without bold flavors. It has plenty of yummy beefiness and it will fill your belly, but it won’t make you savor every bite while you attempt to ferret out all the nuances. It is very straightforward, a beef hug wrapped in similarly comforting high quality breading. Not too cold in Spokane while I type this, but this dish seems like it would be perfect while it is silly cold outside.
We ordered two rounds of two beers on tap, four different beers. All came out just right, coldest tap beer we can remember aside from frosted mugs which could hide how cold a beer actually is. Highly recommend this place if you are wanting cold beer on tap served by attentive friendly professionals.
