I used to visit this hotel regularly about 2 years back, and at that time the taste used to be really good. Recently I visited again and ordered Meen Kulambu with idly, Lemon Chicken, and Kal Dosa.
The food was okay, but it didn’t have the same taste and quality as before. The Kal Dosa was soft, and the Meen Kulambu paired well with idly. The fish tasted fresh, and the pricing is still reasonable for a highway hotel. However, overall flavour and consistency felt average compared to my earlier visits.
I hope they bring back their old taste and maintain consistency like before.

The seafood platter was great. Rasam, and other fish fries were good. It’s shared with their shop selling fresh fish. This could be a little alarming for people who can not stand the smell but the restaurant doesn’t carry the smell. It’s air conditioned too. It’s a very simple resturant on the road side, do not expect a star restaurant seating and ambiance. Worth stopping for the food!

For 458 rupees, the quantity they offered for kadal nadu masala is a day time robbery, I would say.. its mot even worth 4-5 big teaspoon of quantity.. I was doubtful when I received it viz Swiggy and in fact called the hotel to check whether any mistake from their side about the quantity, and they asked me wahtsapp the photos and reverted back saying there isn’t any mistake from their side.. Honestly speaking this item shouldn’t be priced not more than 200 at the max, but charging for 5 teaspoons of an item for Rs 485 is a daytime robbery I would say

However, the crab and prawns were disappointingly small and lacked bold flavor, needing richer seasoning. A great addition would be chapati on the menu to complement the curries. The fish meals was the top notch meals I’ve ever tasted in Salem. The Seafood Platter was the highlight of the lunch. I enjoyed thoroughly many dishes in the platter such as two variety of fish fry, octopus fry, squid, tiger prawn fry, nethili fry along with mayo & tomato thokku. ❤️ The fish meals even came with two fried fish which was so delicious!! We were happened to visit once out of a compulsion. Surprisingly it turned out to be an amazing experience with great food. I’ve never thought the food will be so delicious with reasonable price. The fish, squid and crab were served which are very fresh and so yummy. On the whole it was a great experience. Looking forward for my next meal out there in the Ocean Spice.
