Had an amazing meal at Ocean Palate Express yesterday! I tried the Paal Parota soft, flavorful, and perfectly rich absolutely delicious. My friend had the chatti choru, and it was just as impressive, full of authentic Kerala taste. Great food, friendly staff, and a cozy vibe. Definitely coming back!

This was honestly the worst mandi I’ve ever had in my life, and it felt even more frustrating because we were hungry and waiting for the food. I ordered it through Uber, and the moment I opened the box, I realized it looked nothing like the picture they advertised — the difference was like day and night. The rice had no flavor, the chicken was drenched in food coloring instead of real masala, and the whole dish tasted bland and disappointing. To top it off, the mayonnaise had an old, unpleasant smell. The entire experience was a complete letdown, especially after waiting and expecting a proper meal.

This is a honest review – will not be returning back for sure. Seems they have a new chef. Was here last year it was pretty decent. Malabar dum biryani was there most selling item – not recommended. Beef kottu – was an average 6 after adding salt to make it taste better. Chicken cutlets had bearly any chicken in them. The lime soda was good. Kudos to the service girl she did great

Today I Visited Ocean Palate Express – Indian and Kerala Cuisine in Hamilton, and I must say, it was a beautiful experience! I’ve already been to their Niagara branch, which I loved, and this visit felt just as special. I ordered the Chicken Kizhi Porotta, and it was absolutely delicious – the flavours took me straight back to Kerala. The aroma, the spices, the texture – every bite felt like home. The background Malayalam songs added such a comforting vibe, making the whole experience even more authentic. I also tried their Chicken Biryani, which was rich, and full of depth – definitely one of the best I’ve had here in Canada. But what stole my heart was their tea! Honestly, it’s one of the best teas I’ve ever had in Canada – served in a classic Indian-style cup that made it feel so nostalgic. I heard they even have a tea subscription, which is super affordable, especially for those living nearby or in Hamilton – a great idea for tea lovers! Lastly, the customer service was warm and welcoming. I’ll definitely return whenever I get the chance. I recommend this place for anyone craving real Kerala flavours!

As a big fan of Kerala cuisine, I had high hopes when visiting Ocean Palate, especially since I had a great experience with their food at a different location. Unfortunately, this visit was a big disappointment. The food quality was far from what I expected. The kizhi porotta was barely edible. I’d rate it 1/10. The biryani was just okay, nothing special and certainly not worth returning for. The only positive thing was the front counter girl, who was kind and polite. Overall, very let down by this experience.

This is my third time ordering from Ocean Planet Hamilton, and I have mixed experiences with the food. The first time I ordered biryani, it tasted terrible, but the second time it was slightly better, though just okay. Unfortunately, today’s experience was disappointing. I ordered porotta, which was burnt (as seen in the attached photo) and contained hair (also visible in the photo). Furthermore, the waiting time was excessively long. Despite living just a minute’s walk away from Ocean Palette, I opted for phone ordering for convenience. However, the wait times were unacceptable. For my previous order, I was told 20 minutes, but I had to wait 35-40 minutes, and then an additional 30 minutes when I arrived. Today, I was told 20 minutes for my biryani order, but I didn’t receive a call until 45-50 minutes later. I hope the restaurant will address these issues to improve their service and food quality.
To make matters worse, my husband and I experienced loose motion for the entire day after consuming the porotta.
