This restaurant is a beautiful and very clean with a great atmosphere. The drinks were really good and well made, which we definitely appreciated.
Unfortunately, the experience at the bar made the evening uncomfortable. When my friend and I asked if we could move to a different spot at the bar ( half empty), one of the bartenders immediately dismissed me and said, “Go ask the hostess.” The hostess confirmed it was completely fine since it was bar seating, but afterward the bartender kept looking our way in a way that felt unwelcoming, as if he didn’t want us sitting there at all.
Overall, ALL the bartenders gave off a cold and unhappy vibe, and it made what could have been a great night feel awkward and uncomfortable. It’s disappointing because the space itself is really nice and the drinks were great. I hope management addresses the service atmosphere, because it truly impacts the overall experience.

Looking for a romantic setting this Valentine’s Day? Need to take yourself on a dinner date? Try Ocean blue for a warm intimate setting. Open all year round! Their cocktails are phenomenal. One sip of their famous drink: “The 1492” is not only refreshing, it is relaxing. If you like seafood, and you want comfort food, try their “Signature Lobster Bisque.” It’s smooth and savory. For dessert, the Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake is so Luscious, even Sabrina Carpenter should taste it! Sneak a peak below!

Love this place. Tend to celebrate friend’s family birthdays. Always so well taken care of, Zach our server this past visit was on point the whole time. Food is always so good. My only wish is for a broader fresh fish menu, salmon, sea bass, tuna and Haddock are on the menu. Would like some other choices, such as halibut red snapper, grouper, swordfish to name a few. But otherwise it’s a great restaurant. You forget that you’re in Utica, New York and feel like you’re hanging out in New York City.

Absolutley fantastic experience. Food and atmosphere were truly incredible. Loved being able to celebrate date night here. The only piece of feedback is that the food is possibly a bit overpriced. That said, you know the cost of food when choosing this place, and you get the quality that you pay for. Fantastic gem in Utica.

Was there with another couple. Sat outside and had nice views and vibe out there. Waitress was great. 3 of 4 dishes we ordered were excellent. Could have made the calamari appetizer just a bit bigger but quality was excellent. The one weak dish was the lobster Mac and cheese. It was far too heavy and rich. They need to lighten it up. The heaviness obscured the lobster and pasta. The other dishes were fine and good job adding some lobster pieces to the lobster ravioli. Would go back.

We had a fabulous experience at this restaurant. However, we tried to have our server taste our champagne. The manager did not allow that and I think it was a bit anal on their part. As a result, their star dropped to 4 overall. Let the server take just a taste and you move up a star.

I called the number for Nostros, and the woman who answered explained that Nostro’s had closed but they’d be happy to have us at Ocean Blue. She explained the parking and how to find the restaurant, and her friendliness immediately stood out. When we arrived, she was the same person to greet us. Her genuine hospitality set the tone for the evening. Her hair was pulled back into a low bun, and she wore the most perfectly oversized suit. I mean, this woman IS the vibe the restaurant is going for. Excellent decision to have her be a guests first interaction.
The décor and bar design were gorgeous, the cocktails were excellent, and the food was equally impressive. The crispy shrimp tacos and the hot lobster roll were both outstanding.
I was initially disappointed that Nostro’s had closed and that I couldn’t show my friend their beautiful bar, but Ocean Blue more than made up for it. I will definitely be back.

This has always been a favorite of mine since its opening. Pricey? Yes. But the food was always so well prepared and delicious that it was a treat worth experiencing. But my latest visit was a surprising disappointment.
I’m well aware of rising prices, but I was treating myself to a filet despite the price because they are always so perfectly cooked. Not so this evening. Tender? Yes, but both a companion and I had ordered medium rare. We received “medium.” That was forgivable, but the carrots that came with the meal were not the usual perfect flavor and doneness that makes you “eat your veggies” and that I had always come to expect. I could not chew them, and that was that. If this sounds picky, let me remind you the cost of the filet is $60 right now. Bread is never included, so I ordered two orders of their focaccia grilled bread with almonds and olives, and with drinks and/or dessert, you’d be dropping a bit of cash. (Actually, no. This is a cash free establishment where only cards are welcomed.)
Anyway. My point is, if you’re expecting diners to accept higher prices, you’d better make everything as near perfect as possible.
