Finally got around to checking this place out last week. Cannot recommend enough. The atmosphere is a blend of casual comfort and wine-bar charm. The lighting and décor were intimate without being stuffy.
Lauren was absolutely fantastic. She guided us through the menu with skill and despite me being a wine dilettante she graciously educated and made recommendations that hit the mark every time. The food was simply amazing.
If you’re looking for a place where you can sit and enjoy conversation with friendly staff, good food and wine this place fits the bill. I will be back.

I went here specifically because of the interesting menu. I had to park a block away on the street but thought it would be worth it. When I arrived I was greeted in a friendly way. I made a little joke to the hostess, whispering: “I have a secret to tell you… I don’t drink wine; I’m here for the food.” She responded food? I said yes, you serve food here, right? She mentioned a couple of items. I then opened my phone and showed the menu link from Google Maps showing a dozen plus menu items. “Oh, that’s our old menu,” she replied. No apology, nothing. I told her straight up that they need to fix this or I would be giving a terrible review. I suggested two days. That was four days ago and same menu website still shows same food.
Same company owns Sauvage, which has great food but inappropriate menu categories. Go there and you’ll see.

I have had an absolutely amazing experience at Obscure. I’ve never been the biggest wine drinker, but thanks to Wellie (the queen of wine), my perspective has completely changed. Coming from a girl who does not know much about wine varieties, my new knowledge from the tasting has expanded my appreciation for great wines. Definitely recommend this experience to anyone open to learning about wine or wanting to taste some delicious curated drinks!

I tried the brunch today at the Obscure Wine Company on Central Ave in Downtown Winter Haven. The breakfast croissant was amazing! I could have shared it. It was that big and filling. Indoor or outdoor seating in a very relaxed setting downtown. I highly recommend trying this brunch! The wine is great too! Very nice, personable people as owners. I feel like part of the family there.

Fantastic place where you can just enjoy hang out w wine and have some yummy well presented snacks, sandwiches, hummus, and charcuterie and you will enjoy how the owner and staff can explain the wines and drinks to you with exact details and pair your mood and desires. I love it that the staff are sommeliers themselves. It’s unique and woman owned! More power to ya! I love the atmosphere because everybody talks with each other. It’s like a little family and the culture is very open and friendly.

My friend recently moved to downtown Winter Haven so we were checking out places in the area and we decided to stop by. We were the only two people in the entire place on a Thursday night. Totally fine as it was a quiet evening so we thought we’d check out the menu and order a white wine flight. The bartender told us we weren’t allowed to share the flight and we would each have to order one. She also told us she would have to pick our wines and we couldn’t select our own, which is the opposite of what it says on the menu. Since we weren’t trying to spend over $70 on wine flights we opted for a glass each. My friend ordered a dry rosé and I ordered the rosé Prosecco and was given a glass of regular Prosecco. At first I thought maybe it was the lighting or a very pale rosé, but my friend said I’m pretty sure you got the wrong wine and to ask the bartender about it. She said the menu had changed recently and there used to be a regular Prosecco of the same brand on the menu and said “oh did you want the rosé instead” even though the regular Prosecco wasn’t even on the menu. So she took my full glass of wine and dumped it in the sink and then took the same glass and filled it with the rosé Prosecco, but only gave me a half pour and put it back down in front of me. I was very put off by the fact that she used the same glass so I could see exactly where the first one was filled, and it was obvious that she only gave me a half pour even though I didn’t drink any of the first one at all because it wasn’t what I ordered. She just blamed the menu change but I felt like she was annoyed with me even though we were like I said, literally the only two people in the entire establishment. I’m not sure how you can mess up an order when you only have two people to wait on, but it’s enough to make us never return here because the staff obviously knows nothing about the menu.

To say I had an amazing experience is an understatement! The bartender Lauren was fabulous! Very friendly knowledgeable always smiling very fast with our drinks and food! I have told everyone I know about this place! If you haven’t been here you most definitely want to go and make sure you see Lauren!! Thank you for a great experience

Hands down the best place in town! A wonderful place to sit, take your time and relax, I love to graze on a charcuterie board. The service is fantastic, Bree and Dakota are knowledgeable about all wines, take their advice and you will have an amazing time ! Support local!
