If you’re looking for a spot that nails the classic American breakfast with zero fuss and tons of flavor, O’Brien’s Cafe is it.
I went with the staples: sunny-side-up eggs, hash browns, sausage links, and sourdough toast. It’s a simple order, but you can tell a lot about a kitchen by how they handle the basics. The eggs were timed perfectly, the hash browns had that ideal golden-crisp exterior, and the sourdough was the perfect vehicle for it all.
My son grabbed a breakfast sandwich, which was hearty and clearly made with fresh ingredients—he finished the whole thing, which is the highest praise a kid can give.
Beyond the food, the service was top-notch. Our server was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, making the whole meal feel relaxed and welcoming. It’s exactly the kind of reliable, high-quality local spot you want in your rotation.
Bottom line: Great food, even better service. We’ll definitely be back.

Definitely a greasy spoon type restaurant. The chicken fried steak was good just pretty small portion, which seemed to be the theme as the pancakes were good but very small as well. The hash browns were good. The biscuits and gravy were nice, but nothing special. They did have a great cherry pie. Staff were friendly. Overall if you’re in the area they have a solid breakfast.

This diner is a hidden gym in Sedalia, if you live in Roxboro Park or Sterling Ranch or Castle rock or Highlands Ranch this is a breakfast lunch spot that is definitely worth checking out. Can’t say enough good things about the food the price portion sizes just everything was great. Highly recommend.

GLUTEN-FREE OPTIONS!
This place is a great local diner! And best of all with gluten-free options!!
I just had simple eggs, bacon, hash and toast but it was really good!
I’ll echo what another post said, forget snooze eatery! We’ll be sure to be back!

Great atmosphere, many locals… fun and unique cafe with funny signs and great memorabilia on the walls, many breakfast and lunch options – omelets, pancakes, sandwiches, pizza etc… great bakery items- cinnamon rolls (yum yum!) pie, breads (gluten-free options too!) – The staff and service – some there a long time – are very good. Only slight slow down occasionally are weekend mornings when everyone wants to get in!!

Decent breakfast but pretty bland in the seasoning. Even the green chili didn’t have much flavor. You can tell locals are repeat customers and though we didn’t try it there were many pies to choose from.

Our waitress was lovely and very personable.

Outside a Trump sign welcomes you- I would prefer no politics with breakfast, just a thought.

We’ve been here a few times since we moved out to the area. We like how close it is to our house but it’s definitely not a welcoming place for people who look like me and my husband. I’m alternative and have colored hair and tattoos and my husband is latino. I wasn’t scared of the trump sign out front until we walked in. You can tell it’s mostly locals who don’t want people like us around. We still went back a few times because coming from the south I’m honestly used to it and we liked the pie but yeah.. it’s not worth it.

Luckily the people I work with at a farm close to the cafe have suggested other spots in town that are much more welcoming! I love this little small town still and I’m hopeful that things will become a little less tense in the future.

I love this place. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Love getting to eat here with my good friend who seems to know everyone when they come in.

Great place to stop and eat.

Go to IHOP same quality of food except their prices make sense. Got the chicken fried stake skillet. Was 1/4 of a fried steak, tons of gravy tatters very underwhelming for $19.
